MIT Federal Credit Union lied to me about fraudulent charges made to my credit card, and after over a YEAR, they are still trying to pull a fast one on me. They even have the nerve to stick to their story even though I have recently brought in the NCUA. It's not worth it for me to litigate, but I would like people to know what's going on at this place. I have all the notes from the conversations that I had with more than a dozen people at MITFCU over the course of one year. Without exception, every call was dominated by ignorance on their part, a lack of willingness to provide customer service in any sense of the word, or out and out LIES. Even up to today, none of the people that I have spoken with has done the extremely obvious (and I wish it were MANDATORY) think and FOLLOW THE LAW. They absolutely refuse to help me to deal with charges that THEY ADMIT ARE FRAUDULENT. (Yes, I have a signed and dated letter from them stating as much). I called them once last year when I was out of town. I had a concern about a phone call I received from someone selling "travel" packages. (See the many RipOff reports about these scams). I was told by an MITFCU employee (who conveniently for them no longer works there) that there was no such charge against my account. I (foolishly) believed her and continued with payments as usual. When I later discovered that a charge for $900 DID in fact appear on my card, they told me, "Sorry, you're too late. Can't help you.". Their claim that there is nothing that they can do is 100% patently FALSE. Anyone could prove that as easily as I have. I asserted my Claims and Defenses rights, and although I met every requirement for removal of the fraudulent charge, they still refuse to help me. I'm not paying it, and they can kiss my a**. |
