I live in one of the units owned by "Bob" Gomez for over 2 years. During my stay there Mr. Gomez would constantly be at the property doing work, asking to enter the unit (without 24hr notice), etc. When i decided to leave i gave "Bob" my 30 day notice. I cleaned up my apartment and did the walk through 5 days ahead of schedule but still paid for the full month. I left the place spotless. During the walk through "Bob" said "well, everything looks good. I'm sorry to see you go". We said our good bye and my girlfriend and i left.
I waited over the 21 days stated in California law for the return of my deposit or a letter with an itemized statement explaining why my $1,200.00 has not been returned. But i didn't even get a call. So i called him, i asked what was going on with my deposit, he stated " well, the damage to the apartment was well over what the deposit covered. About $700.00 worth but don't worry about I'm not coming after you for it." Like he was doing me the favor. If there was $1,900.00 dollars worth of damaged I'm pretty sure he would have said something in the walk through or if someone cost me an additional $700.00 i sure would come after them. But I digress.
I went to the San Pedro Court House and filed a small claims case against him for my deposit. CASE# 09S01075 . During the court trial he lied the who time, he stated that I "didn't give 30 days notice" that I "didn't do a walk through". He would also show picture of other peoples apartment and the ones that were of mine showed no damage and the reason for this he said "well, i fixed this before I took the picture". He also stated "it cost me $600.00 to fix a hole he was and it took me 8 hrs" this was one of the many crazy things he would state. He also brought in an itemized statement that he made himself with his own company header (RDG Construction). This company does not have a license to do any work you can look it up, lic#595174 . His statement looked like he typed it the day before the courtcase was to be heard.
At the end of the trial the Judge ruled in my favor for my deposit to be returned to me. After the The judge read the ruling Bob Had a few choice words for him and shout to me "I'll see you at the appeal!"
The appeal came and we went through the whole trial again. This time he had brushed up on his lies but it didn't help. He lost the appeal and in addition the Judge awarded me $500.00 more due to "Bob" acting in bad faith. This resulted in an angry phone call from Robert D Gomez "Bob" stating that i "am not going to see a dime".

Sorry it took you all this to see the real Bob Gomez, took me quite some time as well. I feel your pain and you are not alone!!

I am surprised that it has taken this long for someone to actually REPORT something of this Evil Person...Bob Gomez is not just Robert Gomez...but I believe many people all wrapped up into one. I PRAY for ALL that have taken into his CRAZY world if for even ONE MINUTE. I was BUT JUST FOR A MINUTE!
GOD WILL PREVAIL!

| Less hope God will have Mercy on him. He ripped me (Allie a tenant of his) off over $1700.00 Deposit money. He lost his appeal San pedro court case #10s00281- but still never paid me back. Have to sue his estate. |

I was not a big fan of Bob Gomez, I too had to sue him for over 1200.00. He wasn't a very nice person to me. But I pray the lord will have mercy on him.

Bob Gomez was a consummate liar. Usually, when people talk about a pathological liar they mean something else: a person who has told a few self-serving lies. But Bob Gomez was the real deal. He lied about everything; he lied even when his lies did not serve his interests in any definable way. He lied under oath and he made statements that could be checked and were verifiably false. He was a master. He’d put on his Faithful Dog face and his Honest Bob voice and was so convincing he must have sold himself his own lies. He was good at what he did, but what he did was not good. He was the most consistently dishonest man I have ever personally encountered but was not gifted enough for it to make him wealthy.

Sounds like you knew him well. Getting money out of is estate probably will be liking getting blood from a stone. He spent far beyond his means and that is exactly why you weren't getting your money back. He destroyed more lives than he ever helped. I am certain that he believed his own lies and manipulations. I hope he prayed that the Lord would have mercy on him. |

By way of correction, the money Bob Gomez owed was not owed to me but to three other previous tenants of his. I was his victim in another context. One of the three previous tenants, Patrick Marin, whose judgment against Gomez was unpaid, collected by filing papers with the Sheriff’s Office authorizing deputies to collect rent owed to Gomez by current tenants. This money was then used to pay off Mr. Marin.
Gomez was probably furious and it may have hastened his death. The other two tenants will follow the same course unless the estate provides a more sensible means of collection. At this point, however, they will not be able to further hasten his death.

| Grace, I know him better than any of you. Before he married my sister (who fell for all his lies), I did an extensive background check on him. He has lied, stolen, extorted, physically abused women for their money, misappropriated millions of other people's money, left huge debts to the IRS, pitted family members against each other to cause division (some families are still torn apart after 20 years), stolen identities, over charged building contracts and not returned the money until the Contractor's Licensing Board revoked his license, employed illegals from Guatemala and claimed he had no employees to save him from paying workman's comp, married to two women at the same time, embezzled $$ from the church he ran in Redlands to take vacations and trips to Israel (the congregation found out and ran him out of Redlands), he never was-not for ONE DAY- a police officer with the LAPD (he was kicked out of the academy after 5 months for being a combative-control freak), etc, He was evil to the core. Praise be to God that he cannot ruin anyone else's life. Anyone who is owed money from him, I highly suggest you file leans on every asset you can find. He had a $500K life insurance policy when he was married to my sister (divorce final Oct. 2010). I am sure he has lied about his assets. I am sure he has some somewhere. Go file NOW! Don't wait passed Monday. There is probably a long line...Good luck to all of you. I am grateful and relieved he is gone. |

Oh yeah, he also had a young girl dress to look like one of his daughters and she went into the bank with his daughter's ID and he cleaned out her trust fund left to her by her grandma in the will...it goes on. During depositions, I learned from some of his victims that he was compared to Jim Jones and the Anti-Christ. He actually did look like Jim Jones! He could quote Scripture lie no one, but I say that Satan HAS to know Scripture well so he knows how to twist it into evil and still sound good. |

None of the above information is accurate. It is clear that your reality is incongruent with factual information. The reality is that you were extremely abused by your alcoholic father, as your mother sat idly by enabling his drunken binges. Your controlling father was demeaning, and used his skills in the courtroom to belittle you and your sisters. Your anger is not at Bob, rather anger transfered from your own rage repressed from childhood towards your father; and your unidentified rage at your mother for not protecting you and your sisters. Your entry demostrates your unresolved childhood trauma.
You need to be a victim, for that is the role you had as a child, and now repeating your childhood pattern you seek targets, rather recruit actors to play out your personal narrative. Your dysfunctional family needs sqape goats. You need somebody to be sick, so that you have a distraction from facing the hard work of personal self introspection. A victim needs a perpetrator, just as when you were a child. This is evident in your extreme adherence to government conspiracy theories, and the above rhetoric.

Dear Bob–
I sent this to your email several weeks ago but you didn’t respond. I realize that communication from the beyond is highly unlikely, but the suspicion remains that your reported death is just another of your sleazy tricks. I would not be inordinately surprised to see you at Vons, or Home Depot. That’s why I waited so long to write. This is not the email I hoped to write you. The one I had planned went something like this:
“Congratulations on losing your property. It could not have happened to a more deserving person. I hope I’m not just flattering myself when I suspect I may have made some very modest contribution to that happy outcome.”
I am sorry you died when you did. I was on the very verge of getting you prosecuted for perjury. I believe you sensed that and chose your date of death accordingly. You may recall on October 7, 2010, you stood in Los Angeles County Superior Court, under oath, in front of God, the judge and (most importantly) a court reporter and swore you did not own any property and had no income. Unfortunately, this was the only instance of a court reporter being present. Nevertheless, it was enough.
I obtained a copy of the transcript and a copy of a document you submitted to the Court “under penalty of perjury”. This document gave further false testimony about your financial status. I got certified copies of all necessary documents showing your ownership of property in Orange County and income property in San Pedro. Additionally, there was testimony you were collecting rent. The documentation was so thorough there was nothing left for anyone else to investigate. All that remained to be done was for some agency to issue a warrant.
At the time of your death the case was under review by Los Angeles County Council to determine if it should be pursued by that office or referred to the District Attorney. I was deeply aggrieved when I had to inform the county you were dead. It wasn’t that I minded you dying. I considered it the decent thing for you to do, and surprising, since decency was so out of your character. Still, you could have waited a few months.
You were a great help to me in one respect. I always considered my own major flaw to be the inability to hold a grudge. You certainly got me past that. I was surprised, shocked even, at the number of people who said nice things about you on the Guest Book linked to your obituary. I knew you could be charming when you weren’t trying to screw somebody. I just didn’t know there were that many people you didn’t try to screw.
