Merchant One Payment Svc MerchantOne Deceptive miami, Florida |

I called Merchant One when I bought a business and needed their services. I looked up several companies online and called all of them for quotes. Merchant One had the lowest quotes and that's why I chose them. However, what they quoted me over the phone compared to the actual fees was very different. First they gave me quotes verbally, then they sent a word document re-stating those same fees, and finally they sent me the actual contract. After reading the word document I felt as if that was it, so I didn't pay much attention to the fine print in their contract. When I talked to the sales person over they phone I clearly asked her if there were any other fees that I should know about and she said no. I even asked her what would happen if I didn't have any transactions in a month and she said all you'll pay is just the $7.95 monthly fee. She forgot to mention a 'gateway fee' for processing through the internet. That 'gateway fee' is about $12/month, she didn't mention the annual fee of $99, and she didn't mention the $129 annual PCI Compliance fee. And the latest is that I just called to cancel the service so I wouldn't get charge the annual fee for next year and now they're telling me that the fee is for the year prior, that they don't bill the fee in advance. COME ON!!, I just looked up my contract and nowhere does it mention that. So please stay away from these folks and from any merchant provider for that matter. They hide their fees in many deceptive ways, why can't there be a flat fee? No, they have to have a 'per swipe fee,' 'per transaction percentage,' 'batch fees,' 'gateway fees,' 'PCI Compliance fee,' 'annual fee,'. They get you with the per transaction percentage, saying it will only be 1.59%, so you're like, "Wow, that's really low!" But once you divide all your charges from them by the annual sales number you find out they're actually charging you above 6%, which is just flat out robbery. Look up alternatives online, these merchants are gonna be a thing of the past pretty soon. |
