Mercedes Benz (Mike Smith AutoPlex) Dealership In 2001, I purchased a c-240 Mercedes Benz (Mike Smith AutoPlex) located in Beaumont, Texas and began experiencing problems with it after the first week I purchased it. In 2006, the alarm went off and I had to contact the Mercedes Benz 1800 number in order for them to come out to turn it off. Afterwards, it would not start .I bought it brand new and it only had about 30,000 miles with no problems, and it was still under warrant. After about 5 years, Mercedes sent out a letter for free towing for their valued customers to have their vehicles towed at no cost. I called them again and they send a tow truck and couldn't start it. I called them several times to send out a technician, but they refused, because they did not want to take responsibility for their technician’s negligence, and the fact that they were responsible because it was still under warranty. Then at that point, I realized that Mercedes sold me Lemon based on the Texas Lemon Laws and that they were in violation of The Deceptive Trade Practices. Finally, after 5 years, I was sent a letter for free towing. Itowed it to Mike Smith Mercedes Benz, but don't trust their reputation, becausemy parents bought a brand new Buick with Mike Smith AutoPlex and they made thempay for repairs and accepted payment from them, and did not make any of the repairs. Upon towing it there, Mike Smith AutoPlex, told that I had to made a couple of repairs in order to get it running such as the brake relay system When I got it home, I began to experience all sorts of problems such as: the automatic window on the passenger side stopped working (because in the beginning, I had to take it back several times because the electrical key continued to malfunction and the light bulbs went out frequently) the radio didn’t work, the air conditioner didn’t work, the screen made loud noises, etc. I asked Mike Smith why it wasn’t diagnosed the first time. He said this doesn't normally happen on the C-240's.I blame Mercedes for all my problems, because if they would have sent out the technician and reprogrammed the alarm system it would have been functioning normally. The keys also don't open the car from inside and out In fact, I remember those same problems with the keys, when I first purchased it (which I consider a manufacture issue dueto the dashboard multiple cluster code problems linked to the relay switched, brake pedals and light bulbs, which caused all the problems). They had to reorder new keys twice for my new vehicle I also discovered that Mercedes dashboards and brake circuits and relays, (whichI had to replace) have and many defects, which I found out later after researching the problems associated with the C-240. This information can be found on several Web-sites, Forums and Blogs and RSS Feeds. Meanwhile, after filing a complaint with the BBB, who seems to be bias, and have stated e-mails in order for me to respond back which I never received. After several attempts of contacting the Mercedes Corporate office in New Jersey, the BBB said that Mercedes Benz (Mike Smith AutoPlex) stated that they had not previous records or history of repairs on my Mercedes, and that they need the maintenance records on it. How is that possible, when I bought the Mercedes brand new from them and their policy was to give free oil changes on it and performed all the repairs and service on it? They are supposed to have all the records on it since I purchased it from them. However, I have the repair records and turned them over to the BBB. Now, they want the maintenance records, which they performed for free based on their policy, of free oil changes for a couple of years if you purchase a new Mercedes Benz. For the most part, they don’t want to be responsible so that’s why they refuse to turn over all the records. The vehicle was operating great and only had to maintenance twice until the technician’s came out to shut down the alarm system and tampered with it preventing it from starting. The vehicle only had under 30,000 miles on it , and still today my 2001 has 39,000 miles on it. At this point I was forced to obtain another reputable automotive repair shop to perform the needed repairs which all together costed me about 4,000 in repairs on a Mercedes Benz, which was purchased brand new right off the show room floor .Mercedes is supposed to be a reputable brand name, with quality products and service .As for Mercedes, they forgot about customer loyalty, quality products and reliable service, their main concern now is to maximize profits, they are no longer concerned with social responsibility. For the most part, Mercedes Benz’s are no longer exhibiting quality, perfection, effectiveness, efficiency, safety with customer safety and loyalty in mind. I consider my Mercedes a piece of Junk! Furthermore, I believe if I was a big wealthy business person, based on my gender and race, I would have received Total Quality Service and the whole experience and left as a valued a satisfied customer. In summary, based on the facts, Mercedes Benz (Mike Smith AutoPlex) located in Beaumont, Texas is a conducting unfair business practice and are in violation of the Texas Federal and States of the Texas Lemon Laws and The Deceptive Trade Practices
