| Many years ago our beloved Great Dane died and like many others who lost a pet, we looked into getting another. Unfortunately, that is when I found Melissa Klinedinst's ad for black and blue Great Dane puppies. She was very nice over the phone and we originally wanted to get a blue dane but instead went for a black one since the blue pups were way over our budget. As soon as Melissa got her cashier's check in the mail the communication slowly began to cease and just a week or two before she was supposed to ship out our puppy she came up with this BS story that one of the older danes had stepped on the pup and damaged her eye so she could no longer send her out. When I requested my money back she said "well the original deal was that the dog would be replaced if she was sick." At the time, I should have said, "sorry, it doesn't work that way when I haven't even received a pup to replace in the first place." I didn't though. I was very vulnerable because I desperately wanted to fill that void in my heart that's been there since my dog passed away. I'm sure she knew this. She said she was planning another breeding but with harlequins and hopefully if there was a black pup in there, she'd be ours. Well....two months go by and when I call her up she sounds so depressed and I knew what was coming... she tells me that the litter turned out to be nothing but merles. So she wouldn't be sending me a pup since according to her they cost more than black danes. I immediately requested she send my money back. She said she would but she needed for me to give her time until she gets back on her feet. Then she started crying saying how sorry she was and how she's not going to be breeding any more. After that, I never heard from her again. I would call and her "sister" would answer saying she's at work. If I got the answering machine I would always leave a message but she'd never call me back. She was dodging me pretty hard. This woman is so low she even had her daughter (who sounded like she was 5) answering the phone for her and saying she wasn't home. And then, of course, she had her boyfriend or husband answering the phone for her and saying she wasn't available. Shortly after this, my grandmother got cancer, so all of my attention and energy were no longer on Melissa. Not only did I not get a puppy but I NEVER ever got a refund. She pretty much stole my money. Melissa Klinedinst/Shively is a thief. I was so naive and I should have known better but that doesn't make what Melissa did okay. I'm so appalled to read that this woman is not only still breeding dogs but she's STILL screwing people over. This woman should be behind bars. |
