Medvance Institute Baton Rouge, Education Affiliates A living nightmare experience with his school, My goal of earning a degree has been taken from m |

I'm currently enrolled at Medvance Institute for the Surgical Tech program. I'm a mother with 4 kids, I have always dreamed of going back to school to earn a degree in the medical field. Since my kids are a little older now I chose to enroll in the Surg Tech program at Medvance. These last 9 months at Medvance have been the worst educational experience of my life! I have overcome so many obstacles at this school that is has affected my health. Our class has had meetings with the Director of Operations at the school and even had the directors of Education Affiliates the company that owns the school come in and talked with us. I have begged for someone to listen and help but help has not come. I have been lied to so much that I question what is the truth and what isn't. Although I could spend days recounting the things that I have endured at this school I think the latest occurrence will sum it up. Our instructor came to school so highly medicated on narcotics that she was unable to function. She could not remember where she was nor could she stay awake. We had to walk her to her vehicle in the parking area so she could take more meds and sleep until a family member could come and get her. The program director and campus director was aware of the situation but chose not to help us. After being sent to a clinical site for my externship that made me leave due to issues with Medvance not complying with the rules, they then placed me at a site 1 hr 40 min away. Due to the stress I have endured at Medvance my health has declined and uncontrollable migraines have plagued me. My doctor requested the school not send me so far due to the fact that I have this medical condition and would be traveling on unsafe roadway at dark. My doctor said it would be a dangerous situation for me. But the school has declined to help me. They have put me in this condition but refuse to help find a solution. Now they demand $15,000.00 dollars from me for the time I was at the school. I have only asked to be allowed back into the clinical rotation again when a closer site is available and they won't. I feel I have been treated so badly by this school and I only wanted to earn a degree to show what I have accomplished. I don't know where to turn for help now! |
