Media All Stars: Fraud/Scam/ Bad Company |
Fraud/Scam/ Bad Company |

I worked for Media All Stars (MAS) in 2012 and it was truly a horrible experience. I’m a good Christian woman who comes from a strong sports background having played softball and basketball in high school and college. When I applied with MAS I was attracted to the business because they supposedly helped support high school sports and the owners Buddy & Nicki Cummings were “Christians”. I am a devoted Christian and can say that I didn’t see much Christianity while I was employed with Media All Stars.
I quickly found both assumptions to be false.
Lets start with the high schools…..
Media All Stars pays 35% of the net proceeds to the teams, which after factoring in the owners multiple luxury cars like their lexas and Mercedes, leaves very very little for the teams. In most cases, NO MONEY was EVER sent to the teams. I was on the sales floor, but was close with the reps in the “school relations” department and they were always arguing with high schools regarding no or low donation checks. Many high schools would try to cancel their contract but management would continue to have the sales floor call the community businesses and collect payments in the form or credit cards and checks which they would then pocket! I came to find that several of the “closers” were earning more than $100,000 per year and here they are not even sending checks to many of the schools they were fundraising for. I would field numerous calls from sponsors who paid for an ad, but then Media All Stars never printed a poster and refused to refund the sponsors money. I was shocked out how poorly MAS treated the community and the businesses who were trying to help support the high school teams. Media All Stars would strong arm high schools into allowing them to continue to run campaigns in the community even after the high school cancelled their agreement.
Now lets talk about the staff….
While I was employed with Media All Stars I would see 10 new sales reps hired each week and only maybe 1 or 2 were retained after the first. There was NO training program and the environment was very cut throat. They hired ex-cons, drug dealers, criminals, sexual predators and many other thugs and gangsters who would say anything to “get the sales”. The closers would even change the names on the leads to get credit, STEALING FROM THE SALES REPS WHO ACTUALLY SOLD THE DEAL.
Trevor was the general manager and he knew exactly what was going on and always turned his head to act like he didn’t notice. Buddy and Nicki Cummings, the owners, were also well aware of all the bad things there were taking place in the company and simply sat aback and racked in the cash.
I STRONGLY advise high schools to think twice, and three times, before signing up with Media All Stars! You will be greatly disappointed when your community is mad at you for outsourcing to such a bad company and when you don’t get a donation check.
Sincerely,
iLuv HighSchool Sports |
