Match.com 6 month guarentee is a scam. I abided by all rules, didn't want a renewal and got charged 107.94 without my consent. internet

I signed up for a 6 month guarantee membership on match.com for the first time 2/23/2011. This 6 month guarantee had a rule that if you are active on the site and email/communicate with at least 5 people every month, you would be eligible for a free 6 months if you didn't meet your match within 6 months. I followed their rules. I paid the 6 month membership $82.00 fee from the beginning. After the six months passed, I assumed that my membership would be canceled becuase I didn't agree to renew at the time I paid for the "6 month guarantee. As a result of the "6 mo.", I didn't want to keep my prior benefits of that paid membership and assumed that since I paid in full, that they would inform me about my agreement. I didn't meet my match, followed the rules and thought I was given 6 months for free like promised. Well, the 6 months came to an end, I didn't receive any notifications. I was concerned that they didn't notify me of my (6 months free) membership agreement since the 6 months was coming to an end. I was awaiting for their email response after calling 4 times and not getting any response after 10 minutes of waiting each call. This was a timely matter, so I turned to email for customer support. I didn't get any responses to the email and assumed that I was given 6 months free like I agreed upon from the beginning. Today, I checked my credit card statement and noticed a charge of 107.94 for the month of September 2011. I had gotten charged for a 6 month renewal and wasn't even notified of the charges. I didn't receive any emails or get any calls. I knew I didn't agree to this, so I tried to call customer service and held on for 15 long minutes of no service. I finally turned to online help and chatted with a service rep. He told me that I didn't qualify for the free 6 months because I didn't notify them in the last 7 days of my "6 month guarentee". I told him that I didn't agree to renew and thought I was given 6 months free because I did notify them through email, but I still didn't receive a response. Of course, this really got me angry because I followed all their rules and now they charged me an extra $107.94 when I didn't even get a notice. I wasn't aware of the charges! Joshua, who was the customer service rep told me " I didn't qualify for a refund because I went on my account after the 6 month period and continued to use the site." Well, this was a big misunderstanding because I was getting emails from other members for 2 weeks thinking that I was given my 6 months free. I still didn't receive a response from their company from prior emails or calls. I wasn't notified that they would be charging me, or that I didn't qualify until I talked to Josh today 10/5/11 about the additional $107.94 charge. I didn't sign up or agree to that renewal charge. I explained that this whole thing was a big misunderstanding and that I wanted a refund of $107.94. I didn't give my consent. I already paid $82.00 for the prior 6 months. I wanted a refund of those renewal charges and a cancellation of my membership. Joshua (customer service rep) said all he could do was give me additional time on the site. He said that I would not get my refund since I logged in and got emails sent after the 6 months were over. Now, considering the fact that I paid in February, followed all the rules, and still didn't get any responses from the company about the 6 free months guarantee.....and then got charged for a renewal without knowing? How is this fair? What kind of service is this? I wasn't even qualified for a refund of my own money? This is bad business. I know I'm not the only one who was charged without knowing. I know they are doing this to many other people and it is not ethical. I asked Joshua if I could speak with someone in a higher position, (a manager) and he said he worked in the corporate office and he was the only one I could speak with since he had all authority over these decisions. He would not give me my refund even after I explained to him what happened. Think about it, $107.94 per innocent person every time they are charged without notice. That's a lot of money for their big company. I didn't even get the 6 months free, like we agreed. Instead, I got charged at a time when I couldn't even afford it and they say it's my fault for not notifying them in time? I just saw they charged me on Sept. 7. 2011. I am a hard-working 26 year old student who simply wanted to try the 6 month guarantee that I paid for. The additional charges?? I should have my refund!!!! I know they do this to other people and I see more and more unsatisfied customers blogging about the same exact problem. Corporate capitalism SCAM and fraud! Match.com, you messed with the wrong person. You should not take people's money like that so you can expand your mutli-million company and use my profile in your ads? SHAME ON YOU!!!!
