I will not ever recommend Massage Envy, and per the numerous other complaints I have read I am not alone! I signed up for the 1 yr membership in Marcch of 2008. I fulfilled the contract. In August or September of 2010, I put my account on vacation status because I was no longer working. At the end of the 6 months, my father got very sick, nursing home was next, and he pass away soon after, during all of this I also had to have a complete knee replacement, and then helped my mom deal with medical bills, insurance, etc. Needless to say, massages were NOT on my priority list. I received several automated recordings that I needed to call Massage Envy, (my credit card had expired). In March, a real person finally called and left a message, I needed to pay up or they would send my account to collections. I called them, explained that my life was a mess right now, wasn't working, had major knee surgery, could they please close my account retro to January or February. You know their answer....NO. They have now sent it to collections! I have contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Call For Action group at a local TV station. Any GREAT company would listen to their customer, understand that life happens and crisis happens, cancel the account, forget the money, and say...we're sorry to hear about your father and everything happening to you. Good luck on your knee recovery and rehab, and please come back to us when things get better. Massage Envy is NOT a great or even good company!!!! They want only one thing, a chance to sign up a person and then not let them out of paying, even when they have fulfilled the 1 year contract. I warn anyone not to sign up for a membership that allows Massage Envy the ability to charge your credit card!!!! They will never stop charging it!!!! |
