Maryland Memorials LLC Maryland Memorials by Kinsey, Inc. Failure to Deliver Nearly 1 Year Later! Glen Burnie, Maryland |
16th of Mar, 2013 by User241125 |
In June 2012, I ordered two bronze grave markers directly from Jim Kinsey the owner. As of 17 March 2013 the date of this report, he has FAILED to DELIVER and install the grave markers ordered! Keeps giving me one excuse after another and continually ask me to be patient! There is NOT enough patience in the world to justify any company NOT being able to provide the grave markers ordered. I called the Cemetery to explain me dilemma, and to add insult to injury was further advised by the Cemetery that Maryland Memorials has NEVER submitted a request for a permit from the Cemetery. Apparently, a permit request is normally submitted to the Cemetery when a customer orders a monument and is required prior to installation. Check Better Business Bureau, they have received six complaints since 2012 for this company's "Failure to Deliver". Jim has offered to refund the money paid for the markers, however; since the cost of bronze has increased it would not be cost effective or in the best interest of the person for which the order was placed to simply allow Jim to back out of the contract unless he is willing the pay the additional cost of reordering from another company. Jim's response to me was; "That's not going to happen!". The money used to purchase the grave markers belongs to a sweet 77 year old man who the medical community and court system determined was incompetent and not capable of caring for himself. Guess you could say I'm a bit like Ed Magedon (founder, Ripoff Reports)...I have one goal in mind – to empower people and animals who are not capable of speaking out for themselves by helping them to speak out, share information, and fight back on their behalf against bad government system/business practices. Bottom line, I am the Court Appointed guardian of a 77 yr old man who is not a relative and I receive NO compensation. The grave markers ordered are for his sister/caregiver who passed away unexpectedly in April 2012 and the other marker is for his grave site which is part of arrangements being made to purchase a Pre-need Insurance Policy for his funeral/burial arrangements in the event of his demise. This man has very little money and simply can not afford the additional cost associated with obtaining the grave markers...I also feel as though this company should be accountable and responsible for their business practices/outcomes. So I welcome any recommendations you might have to assist in obtaining the grave markers at this company expense and NOT an elderly man's expense. Lesson learned, stay clear of Maryland Memorials and call the Cemetery prior to ordering a grave marker/monument, they may be able to provide the grave marker/monument or can recommend a reputable and reliable company. PLEASE, Do NOT allow this to happen to you. |
