Madison Who's Who Fraud Long Island, New York |
30th of Nov, 2011 by User655970 |
I have joined International Who's Who June 2011, then after around 10 days from signing the contract with Int. Who's who. I received a call from Madison WIW, they introduced themselves by giving all the information about me including personal one, which I had given to International WIW. They told me about a multimedia package invoice which I have to sign electronically. At first impression, I thought this is part of International WIW. I left my office around 1 month to come and see around 25 different invoices from Madison WIW, each invoice around 788 us to 900 $. I understood there is something dirty going on. I went online to search about Madison WIW to find out that I am one of many people who got abused by this company. I checked my Visa Card online and the shocking news was that Madison WIW has charged me over 5500 us $. I blocked my credit card then i contacted International WIW to clarify how Madison WIW was able to discover my details which i have written to them. I doubt that someone is passing the information. International WIW denied any relation or affiliation with Madison WIW. I called Madison WIW and spoke with the customer service and finance dept. who refused to answer how they got my personal details. I have emailed them to return all my money which they charged without my permission and they were bargaining with me that they would return part of the money. I never accepted. Citibank Fraud Dpt. is investigating the case, more over the smart telecommunication in UAE will provide all the records of telephone calls from Madison WIW. Be careful of such companies.. |

I think that a lot of these comments are written in a "jump on the bandwagon" gang mentality. You submit your phone number and someone calls you. What about that is so crazy?? When i first received a call I did Google the company and I was apprehensive, so I asked for a call back. After further evaluation of the posted reviews I realized that most of the negative comments were about(after which I purchased a 3 year membership):
1- Too many calls/no voice mail. Really? If you don't want someone to call you then don't give them your phone number. I also think that an effective move would be to answer and say you're not interested. You really think calling them back 20 times is a mature way to handle it? If you have issues still then block the number on your phone, it takes 10 seconds and is free. Stop being so dramatic. A whole thread dedicated to being angry that someone DIALED YOUR SUBMITTED PHONE NUMBER. Really?!!?
2- You didn't get anything. What does that mean?? If you sign up for any networking site you do have to actually reach out to other members looking to network. You cant just set up a profile with little to no information and expect people to contact YOU. You don't wait for an opportunity to fall into your lap, which is why you sign up in the first place, so you look for potential contacts. Would you email LinkedIn and complain that you GOT NOTHING? No, you did nothing, you made no effort to network so that type of diluted attitude will get you nowhere. Why do you expect anything more? As soon as I received my welcome package from Madison Who's Who I went online and put in as much information into my profile as possible, so that i COULD network. I emailed customer service, ASKED for contacts in my area and OMG!!! I networked. What a crazy idea.
3- Disgruntled employees. I think all of that is just nonsense that would never change my mind on anything in the first place. I've seen your kind, you'd be miserable in any sales position. Time better spent looking for a job.
4- You were forced to purchase a membership.Really???? REALLY??? How is that even possible? They came to your house and took your credit card out for you? You don't NEED to join. The right way- you say NO if you're not interested and get off the phone. The wrong way- give them your credit card information to get them off of the phone. These complaints remind me that even incompetent people have credit cards.
To sum up, I just joined this community and I've had no issues. I don't think anyone wants to be affiliated or recognized by any company with bad press. So relax, do the correct research and then make a decision. Realize that Madison Who's Who provides many networking possibilities if you are willing to do the work. I understand how the calls can get annoying, but its just people who are trying to do their job, you express interest and they follow by doing the same. On that basis alone to then call Madison Who's Who a scam is just nasty and immature. You're ruining a good service for a lot of people. I WANT to get my moneys worth, I WANT to network, so stop with the negative comments, most of you aren't members and have no idea what you are talking about.
