Lonestar Chevrolet Black Book Trade In scam Houston, Texas
20th of Jun, 2011 by User919003
Chevrolet Dealers have taken to using a new scam called the Black Book. They offer you an opportunity to evaluate your trade online if you are on honest you will get a good idea of what the dealer should offer you on your trade, or at least that is the way it is supposed to work. I was honest about the condition of my vehicle, it is pristine and less than a year old with 13 k miles. Black Book was less than I wanted but I could live with their numbers of 46k, Kelly Blue Book was at 49k. Here is the rub / scam, the dealer lures you in with this number, gets you in the sales bullpen, turns up the pressure and then tells me he can only get the wholesalers to give me 37 - 38k for it. Mind you I had the vehicle independently appraised at 51k. Dealers, including Lonestar Chevrolet who use the Black Book are trying to scam you. They will not honor or even come close to honoring the Black Book pricing. This is a real shame, I bought my Avalanche from them and the shop buys all the trucks from them. However, in light of this recent scam attempt we will stop buying from them
