This owner of the barn, Jo Wickline, is mean to kids and plays favorite. She wants to control you and your horse and if she can't turns plain nasty on you and your horse (and your child!). We weren't allowed to show, yet she went out and showed with 2 other kids the next weekend! She made it so we missed the Fair, something my daughter was very much looking forward to. She does not allow anyone to work with your horse but her herself eventhough she is not a horse trainer. You cannot turn the heat on the observation room so it's freezing cold (doesn't do any good). If you have a mare, your mare will be inside all winter long because she doesn't have enough room. She is plain nasty but at first she pretends to be your friend. She doesn't ahve any friends so that shows you what type of person she is. She will pick someone new to drive out of her barn once the one she picked on before leaves... There is only beginner WEstern and English at this barn. Nothing else! No showing, no trainers, and she has tons of lessons during the time you will want to ride (such as after school!)

We have been at this barn for the past 8 years and have only good things to say about Jo Wickline and our experience here! It is clear to me and others at this barn that this post was written by a woman that was asked to leave the barn. There were many reasons that Connie Schneider was asked to find another place to board her horses. Connie was very selfish and difficult to get along with. She enjoyed stirring up trouble in what had always been a very pleasant barn environment until her arrival. Connie was a "pageant mom" to her daughter, which made the experience of her daughter and everyone else uncomfortable. Connie's daughter did show along with the other girls at the barn. The only "favorites" played at the barn were by Connie herself. She actually spoke badly about some of the young teen girls there, particularly the ones she felt directly competed with her daughter. Connie's daughter did not miss the fair due to this barn. Another of the lies above is about the mares being inside all winter long. I am extremely saddened that Connie took the time to lie about LJL Farm and slander a woman whom I call my friend...yes that was another lie... I am one of many people that call Jo "friend". Connie doesn't know the meaning of the word!

Wow...what can I say. I am so sorry that this person is so bitter. In all of my 40+ years of teaching, this is the first time I have had such a colorful writeup and failing report card. Too bad. Did she say I Control ... well if you knew this lady, she needs a lot of help in her inexperience with horses. I wouldn't exactly call it control, more like protection. I am not a trainer, never said I was. Yes, I do teach beginners...and I love it. I do a great job starting them with the basics and moving them up to advanced riders. You might check out the winnings we had this summer. We are not a big show barn, and certainly don't plan on being one. With all the trouble and turmoil in life, especially now, I am sorry this woman feels this angry. I hope she will find whatever it is she is looking for. I have learned from this experience with her. I am not surprised that she has resorted to this unprofessional act, she said similar things to me about the previous barn she boarded in, as well as the instructor there.

On a better note, ANYONE who knows me, and our farm, knows better. I welcome everyone to come and visit. I recently read an post about another stable, like this one written about us. I think it was Wilson Hills Stables. Now I know not to believe everything you read. Thank you.

So very sad. I do not know the woman complaining, but I do know Jo & Larry Wickline with LJL Farms. Yes, another FRIEND. We had our daughter taking beginner lessons with Jo, and we were completely satisfied. We do not board there, but have had business transactions with Jo and her barn for years and have never had an issue. My husband and I are so very glad to have FRIENDS like Jo & Larry Wickline.

Our daughter is also a rider at Jo's Farm. Upon our initial lesson at Jo’s we were immediately impressed with the way Jo takes a responsible approach to ensuring the safety of our daughter and the horses. And, also, that she actually learned important handling and riding when being around horses. What adverse comments that were written about her are untrue and unfounded. Connie, if you have a grievance or issue with someone, address it in person. Because you can't have it your way isn’t a license to publicly seek vengeance.

No comment necessary because Jo knows what she is doing. I'm way above that. And to treat a young girl they way she is treating her deserves the feedback she is getting. It's not about the way she teaches kids to ride, it's when you board there. Ask the boarders who have left LJL farm. She is great with lessons, that's what she should stick with. And not talk about people all the time. It's bad for business! And not try and do things behind ones back ones they leave. That's why the note is up here. Our daughter is treated terrible by this women! Not necessary. and it still continues trying to ruin her relationship she has built with the kids at that barn. Not necessary. Hurting a 13 year old's feelings. Trying to stop their friendship is a terrible thing to do. No Christian does this. She has talked about ALL of you!! You just don't know it! And terrible things were said! Very unproffesional.

Please don't punish her daughter, Marissa, for Connie's actions. She is acting out irrationally and doesn't realize the consequences of her actions. I personally think Joe is a fine person, nonetheless, it's her barn so she can run her business how she would like but I would please like to STRESS that these views are NOT the views of the entire family. Olivia and Marissa are best friends and I really really don't want them to not be anymore.

Notice how everyone says we do not board there but take lessons. She is great for beginner lessons. She just needs to stay away from and not mingle in my business. WE paid on time, we left without any hard feelings but she COULDN'T just let everything go. Good luck to all!

My children have been riding and taking lessons from Jo Wickline, owner of LJL Farms, for approximately four years. Jo has always maintained a loving "family" atmosphere at her barn. She is inclusive of all the children at the barn and frequently has events so all the riders can maintain friendships. I am extremely saddened that a disgruntled consumer has gone to such lengths to not only hurt a person that only tried to be a friend, but to slander a business that has been in operation for many, many years. The consumer that wrote the terrible comments about Jo also owns a business, so how would she feel if someone posted such damaging comments about her on a public forum? This goes beyond just hurting a person's feelings, but could potentially damage business profitability.

In my experience, Jo has always operated her business in a professional manner with safety for her riders at the forefront of each lesson. She has many years of experience and will give an honest assessment of a rider or a horse. As far as talking about other barn members, I've only heard Jo say positive things about her riders. She has taken the time to build relationships with all the girls and encourages friendships between the girls.

Hopefully, people who read these posts don't take one person's word for Jo's qualifications. There are many families who love Jo and will continue to take their children for lessons. My children genuinely feel as if Jo is a part of our extended family and they are proud to be part of her riding family. Posting negative comments on the internet doesn't solve anything and represents a juvenile approach to handling problems.
