Beware of this company and it's so-called services/product! After being referred to this company and it's services/product for backing up my files for my pc, I joined under the 14-day "FREE" trial offer and quickly found that the $3/month fees were only for years of prepaid services. Their actual fees are still relatively reasonable at $8/month so I gave it a try. I joined and they quickly charged my account for the $8 and was informed that I would be re-billed automatically in exactly one month plus 14 days. I should have known better. The company is from the UK. I still don't know the legal ramifications or actions I am able to initiate. The "red-flags" continued. "RED FLAGS" include their BBB review (link provided here:) Check out just one of the comments within their "so-called" reviews: Don't bother with LivedriveI have been with livedrive over 3 years, about 6 months ago I went to look at a file that I uploaded when I signed up....it was no longer there. I looked at some more files, they were no longer there either, just some stubs saying file not uploaded. I logged a ticket with them and got a couple of quick responses, but as soon as they realised they had no idea what has happened to my files, they stopped responding. So I have been asking for updates every few days and received no feedback at all. My subscription has now run out and I have cancelled my direct debit on the basis that for at least 6 months they have not provided the service I was paying for, but still no response. All I get now is a warning that my data will be deleted if I don't update my payment details. For this reason I would say to anyone considering signing up to Livedrive, don't bother unless you want to lose your data and experience the worst customer service you can possibly imagine!By Malkaul on 4 Dec 2012 Actual Link: Please note, their are more complaints and negative reviews which outnumber the positive. Yet, another "red flag". Unfortunately, I did not initiate a good investigation of this company and its reviews as I was referred to this service/product through a "friendly" source. A source which was trusted. I was referred not only for their services but, also the affiliate program claiming generous commissions for referring others to livedrive. Fortunately, I was not able to even attempt to refer others. I own a relatively new laptop with the windows 8 operating system, and after downloading their software/program, I attempted to install their product. Error messages or caution message occurred during the installation process in its final stages. I submitted numerous tech support "tickets" as the "live" portion of the the company name seems to apply only to the UK, I assume? I received a few email responses asking me questions and giving me possible solutions that did not apply in my case or that were unnecessary. Was there a "live" person reading the tickets I sent? After being unable to install the software/program completely, which is a blessing in disguise, I submitted a ticket for a full refund and cancellation. I did this as there are numerous complaints concerning the continued "re-billing" of their services even after cancellation. One such complaint is listed within "Ripoff Report" prior to this posting. I received an email explaining their terms and refusing to refund charges made and also refusing to cancel my account, and extended my trial period for another 14 days! I know I should have been grateful but, why would I keep a service I cannot even use or install? Why should I have to pay for "nothing"? Please read the "fine-print". The so-called 14-day Free trial period is not FREE! They charge you immediately! The 30-day money back guarantee does NOT exist! If you decide to cancel within the 14-day Free trial a refund is disqualified! Man, I wish I had waited until the 15th day! But, why should I have to wait 15 days of NOT being able to use something to officially ask for my money back? I get "numb" thinking about this logic. Also, even though I was unable to use the product/service and Thank God that I was not able to refer others, I received this email as well (copy attached:) Livedrive Affiliates 10:58 AM (4 hours ago)to me Dear Affiliate, We are writing to notify you that your affiliate account with Livedrive will be terminated with immediate effect. Your unacceptable use of the affiliate system is in direct breach of our affiliate terms and conditions. Therefore you will no longer have access to your account nor will you be eligible for any commission payments. This decision is not open for discussion, please do not attempt to contact the affiliate team as the decision will not be reversed. Your IP has been registered and any future attempts to sign up to livedrive as an affiliate or a customer will be blocked. Regards, The Affiliate Team BEWARE and BE-WARNED EVERYONE! STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! DO NOT FORGET TO FIGHT FOR YOUR MONEY BACK!
