Moving to Pasadena we had to deal with the company since they managed the unit we rented. I must say from the very first day we realized that they're a horrible company. "they literally make contracts that you sign that basically unload them of any responsibility" is what a fellow yelper said. After our first week of moving, we realized the apartment wasn't quite finished, we would get phone calls asking if they can send a maintenance guy (most likely illegal immigrant) to stop by and touch up things such as, attach fire alarm, finish lining under sink, and constantly come in for water/faucet issues and repairs. Having to deal with such, we also noticed our 2nd floor neighbors obviously didn't realize they had company below, had many broken pipes and sprinklers infront of our walkway causing a flood of water that we would have to walk through, and lastly a random bike attached to our parking space which was in the way. So, dealing with all this I sent an email both to the manager supposedly incharge named Rosa Hernandez, and also called the property management company to have these issues adjusted. More than a week went by and finally received an ok yet still nothing was addressed, and had to basically repeat all issues a good 4 times till only 1 of them were fixed. A couple months later our water heater broke, so I called, emailed, and even text message the "manager" to make her aware of my calls/emails on the problem. Keep in mind a water heater is a basic necessity that is needed for proper living conditions. To my surprise of course I did not hear from them until 2 hours later only to get a call back from Rosa asking "oh, well did you pay your gas bill"...which she is obviously asking to buy herself some time, and of course they didn't want to replace it right away so they sent another "maintenance" guy (probley illegal immigrant" over to just look at the water heater, fast forwarding 4-6 hours later, they finally gave up since I kept calling & insisting that I need a water heater, and I shouldnt have to go through this much hassle for something that tenants have rights to. Later I get a knock on my door from the manager and the owner saying that we dont have a right to insist on having the water heater replaced right away, which is completely unprofessional and illegal since they're usually suppose to give you a notice before just showing up for no reason, also started saying stuff like "who do we think we are, people have it worst is other countries like syria"...Well were not paying rent to live like they do in syria, I mean Im not paying rent to deal with third world type situations! So Unprofessional, I mean honestly these people are supposedly suppose to be running a property management company! Also, every so often the community washer and dryer goes out and of course it doesn't get fixed to about a good month or even 4 months later.. I was even forced to go to a laundry mat during the summer which we all know is hectic. I hope I saved future tenants from having to deal with them, especially for those is pasadena, yes the area is very nice and at first you'll think that what they charge is reasonable because of the area but you'll soon realize that they are actually taking advantage of so and taking advantage of you. Later down the line like me I am very unhappy with them and of course if I had known I would have takin it into consideration when choosing a property. Thanks |
