Lightning Van Lines is the worst most unethical and unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Do not do business with them I repeat do not do business with them!!!! Lightning Van Lines have held my furniture hostage for several months and they have passively agressively resisted my every gesture to resolve the matter amiably in order to jack their storage fees. I have asked them on several occasions to allow me to pay whatever balance is due and to allow me pick up my furniture on my own. I even told them that I would sign a waiver form absolving them of any liability for any damage or lost furniture and on each occasion Lightning Van Lines refused to resolve the matter. I hired Lightning Van Lines to move my furniture across country and they failed to deliver my furniture as agreed upon on several occasions. Often they will give me inconsistent dates or they would fail to give me an exact date for the delivery of my furniture. Lightning Van Lines consistently gave me poor and erroneous information in regards to the delivery, storage fees, and the location of my furniture on going for several months. Carlos and Cheryl are the worst and most misinformed people to deal with and don’t trust whatever they tell you even if they put it in writing. Finally when I put my foot down and demanded that they deliver my furniture by a certain date or I would report them to the appropriate agencies. Lightning Van Lines responded by presenting me with an invoice for an inflated storage bill in excess of several hundred dollars. This is when I became concerned if they actually had my furniture, and so I asked them to the location of my furniture they give me conflicting information on the storage location of my furniture listing several states other states when they had my furniture stored; before finally telling me that they refused to give me the location of my furniture because I had irritated them!" Afterwards they sent me an email stating that they were going to sell my furniture if I did not pay their inflated storage cost within five days. I have been forced consult with an attorney and I have filed complaints with several state and federal agencies regarding their practices. I refused to pay Lightning Van Lines their inflated storage fees based on principle so that they will not continue to prey on other innocent consumers and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that their unethical practices are brought to light. Lightning Van Lines failure to deliver my furniture has caused me some hard ship as I had to purchase more furniture, electronics, and clothing in order to carry on with my personal and professional life. Since then I have had other moving experience with other more ethical moving and storage companies and I have not had any problems with their services or with the delivery of my. possessions. Finally I learned from other people who had similar complaints about Lightning Van Lines that Lightning Van Lines will troll the internet posting false positive reviews about their services on various consumer websites, and for casting disgruntled customers in a negative light. |
