Several years ago while in China I was referred to this supposed "highly professional" law firm. I was seeking trademark protection for our fast growing company and our already protected usa mark. I was advised that the process would take a few years. That was mind boggling to me, but each country is different as I have come to learn. This firm took my money, submitted my mark for registration in the leading ripp off country in the world, know for stealing patents, trademarks, and the king of counterfitting. After months and months of not hearing anything I began to email the firm to find out the status of our mark and essentially received no news, just rhetoric. Very irritating and unsettling to not know where you stand. Then about 3 months ago I receive an email that the Chinese government has essentially dis-allowed my mark. The reasoning was totally bizarre. So HERE IS THE RIPOFF. LEHMAN, LEE & XU, this supposedly highly regarded law firm did NO preliminary search in 2008 and then sends me a rejection letter advising me of at least $2000 more in fees to oppose the Chinese governments decision, plus hourly fees. This law firm knew real well what they were doing and did not give a damn about my mark and getting it approved in the #1 ripoff country in the world. They simply churned the process, so they could make more fees off me and my company. Here is some more food for thought!! I asked for a refund for my waste of time and money and their complete failure to advise me of the process and pitfalls, and they had the nerve to tell me they did nothing wrong either from a ommission or co-mission point of view. Lastly, the guy whose name is the lead name in the law firm went invisible when I tried to contact him. He never returned any emails after the decision came from the Chinese government, but he was extremely friendly when they were in the process and collecting the initial fees for the work. Stay away from this firm and stay away from the principal who by the way is an ex-pat from guess where.............THE USA This firm is a ripp OFF for sure. They have many offices in China that are very well decorated I am quite sure. Find another law firm in CHINA, not this one.
