scam Psychic Scam |
3rd of May, 2011 by jaxonsmom |
Back in October I was having relationship problems and called a psychic hotline. Now understand that this is the first person that Ive dated in nearly 10 years. In speaking with the psychic she advised me that she would help me for $165 to reunite the spirits of me and my significant other. This woman identified herself as Lauren Wilson, and used several other names to collect money, some include Rodney Marks, Stephanie Lee, Angela Lee, Peaches Marks, Gina Wood and others. Throughout the process, I was threatened that if I did not keep sending her money I would live a terrible and lonely life because there was a curse on me. If I did not complete the process of breaking the curse I was advised that I would always be alone and never find peace and love. Now understand that I am the single parent of a young child and am currently undergoing chemotherapy for a cancer condition. This woman has put me through hell and continues to hold over $27,000 of my money in what she alleges is the tabernacle of her church. She claims that the money has not been spent and that if it is, she would certainly be cursed. She has made several commitments to come to me via airplane and return the money; however, she has cancelled every single reservation for the past 2 months. I am now in a financial pickle and cannot even buy groceries or pay for medicines I need.
I know that this sounds stupid, but I was desperate to have someone care about me. I have been going through this process alone with virtually no support other than an elderly parent for whom I often am responsible to care for. If anyone finds this story of interest, I would welcome any media coverage to expose this deceitful practice and get my money back.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. |

I am sure that there are several sides to each story and I am to be reminded that in gathering information to assist the members in "breaking the curse" I probably overstepped my bounds by obtaining this information in an unethical manner. Yes, I provided names, Social Security Numbers, Bank Account Numbers, addresses and the like, and as a result I too have been haunted by my conscience in the way this information was obtained. Upon posting this report, I have been contacted, she still assures me that she has ever intent to return the money "when the process is complete." At such time as all the money is refunded, I will redact this report concerning the allegations of fraud and theft and/or any further negative allegations that have been alleged in this report! |

Update: 30 days later and and still no results. Although she sent copies of "cashier's checks" the bank indicates that they are not valid. So, we will be moving on with legal action.
It is unfortunate that this woman involved several other people in her scam but there are no other options but to hold all parties accountable. |
