KENT STEFFES - PICK PACK LOGISTICS ripoff OAKLAND California

Kent Steffes, his wife Michelle Steffes and their said business partner Jeff Pickett, hired me to open what I thought was to be a great new business opportunity in the Oakland area. Kent ran an ad in the local paper and when I met with him about the opportunity in his place of business there was nothing in the office but a card table and 2 chairs. This was a huge Warehouse and the position was to open this from start to finish. I was interviewed at the location in Van Nuys and met with the only other 2 employees aside from his partner that were working. When I questioned the staff Mr. Steffes refered to the 2 "Mexicans" as having a hard time staying out of trouble and as an incentive they would throw in a dollar extra if he was there for a week straight. He then introduced me to Alex his other worker whom he stated was in a gang and based on the location of Mr. Steffes warehouse he knew that Alex would be ok but he could not cross the street because it a rival gangs ground. I almost thought that it was a joke until his partner and wife confirmed the story. He said that the pay was $8.00 but he would "Throw in a buck around christmas to make them happy" He told me that I would have to hire my own people and get the warehousse operational. He and I disgussed that I would have the full ability to hire and manage the warehouse as well as set the warehouse warehouse up as I felt the best way for it to work. Because Kent Steffes seemed like an educated man it was my thought that because he was new in this type of business that he had not learned yet how it is that you get your employees to work with you not FOR YOU and how his arrogance would not get him the employee's at my location as he had at his. I hired 2 men to work in the warehouse and went on about business. After the first few weeks Kents promises never came through. As I brought business in suddenly he e mails me a list with different prices after client contracts had been signed my paychecks did not come on time, the others were never paid, we had no proper equiptment and no communication to do shipping. Many times I paid for shipping clients items out of my own pocket and on one occassion paid the employees because I believed that Kent Steffes would pay me back. Here he was a former Olympic Star as I was told who won his medal playing beach volleyball(whatever) could not pay his employees or buy them a single stick of furniture for the month and 1/2 that we were employed. Mr. Steffes and Mrs. Steffes (his H.R.)girl wrote me a check 4 days after I was not payed on payday and shorted my wages I resigned. By his order at the Union Bank he issued a stop payment after a stop payment on my paycheck with no regard for the position that he put me and my family in. Mr. Steffes makes no appologize and refuses to pay. He is a loser and a true scum bag. I bounced my house payment, my 5 kids soccer fees and college fees and he just disappeared like a coward along with his partner Jeff Pickett and wife Michelle Steffes (VP of Kelly Services) They will receive this letter. If you know these people do not do business with them. As they sit on the board of their private beach club and play house with the money that they stold from their employee's they need to be stopped. DO YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS PEOPLE THAT THINK THAT THEIR MONEY IS BETTER THAN THE PEOLPLE THAT EARN IT FOR THEM. Anna

TO ADD TO THIS I SET UP ALL THE FIRST EVERTHING IN THE BUSINESS, SHELFS/STICK etc. I WORKED FOR OVER SEVERAL WEEKS AND WAS NOT PAID FAIR, LIED TO ABOUT MY PAY RATE , WHEN I WOULD GET PAID ETC. I HAVE KIDS AND ONE ON THE WAY IM AM WHAT YOU CALL POOR. I NEED SOME JUSTICE things were said that I would rather not discuss. I just need my piece of what I deserve I had a friend also who I had to give free music to compensate me wasting his time. My friendship was off balance also have no money to pay my part of the rent my family is not gonna have a christmas from daddy ""KENT STATED TO MY FACE THAT HE WASNT GONNA PAY ME NEVER NOT NEXT WEEK OR NEXT MONTH.
