I gave notice to K&b that i needed to take off for a month in 2008.I worked my notice and returned the truck to the yard as promised and they gave me a bus ticket and a cab ride to Grayhound.After the bus stopped i attemped to use my com data card at a money machine and it had been frozen ( i had at lease $1400 on it from previous settlements and was due approximately $800 more)I called K&B and asked about my money and was told no would be in until monday.After a month of trying to get my pay back i found a job with a local company and my new boss suggested that I call K&b and tell them that i would return to work if the would give the pay that i had earned.They agreed and i caught the next plane to Nabraska.I was issued a com data card with my past pay on it and i quickly withdrew everything and was routed to Dallas to pick up my bed roll etc.I parked the truck in an approved parking area and quit the company.K&B placed on my DAC that i was late on loads and that i abandoned the truck.I thank God that i had another job and would have never thought of leaving any company that way except they stole my hard earned pay and there was nothing i could do about it!I called the Attorney Generals office in Nebraska and was told that the best i could hope for is getting a settlement from them for hours worked at minimum wage.This company knows that most truckers dont have the resources to fight them and they get away with it!
