Justbreastimplants website Misleading, deceptive , Internet |

This website comes up in a search engine when I googled breast implants. So I became a registered member and started reading the forum. There were some plastic surgeons that were sponsors on the board with great reviews. I researched one on there and chose him for my surgery. When I first signed up a girl contaced me by email in my profile telling me she was unhappy with her results. Before I could get any more details..she was banned. The results were less than desirable and I noticed if I posted anything remotely negative it was deleted. The forum admin went to my profile and deleted any reference to who my surgeon was. This was so noone else would see something bad about this surgeon and it deter them from using him. She then banned me from the site. Other girls were in contact with me and were afraid to post of their negative experience because they were threatened with being banned. It leads women to believe he is amazing Doctor with no one unhappy with him. What I didn't know when I joined the board was the the site owner is compensated by the sponsors therefore doesn't want anything to affect that. It is misleading and a disservice to women on the board to engage in this behavior. The public should realize it is social media and the Doctor/Doctors are using it to further their business. The site owner facillitates this by not letting anything negative be posted about them. The dots need to be connected that THEY BOTH have something to gain from the relationship and do benefit from it. While the board was helpful with pre and post op questions etc..I should have "followed the money" sooner. It would have saved me alot of emotional, physical, and financial pain. |

I totally agree with you. Any things that even questions their authority is deleted. I was just banned permanently because I complained about that fact in particular. The women on that site that stay act like humble peasants to the moderators. One woman posted "I pray that I get membership status one day. I have 80 posts and I humbly await my membership here". The environment they create is one of fear. They also delete anything that objects to products or surgeons that fund them. The women are misinformed because they are not allowed to see all of the women's opinions, only the ones that they choose to stay. |
