Josh Ryder Amway Salesman Misrepresenting Himself Mall Area, Tennessee |
9th of Jun, 2011 by User442194 |
I was approached by this guy in Wal-Mart while shopping for groceries. He commented on my fitness level and attire, feigning interest in the sports and activities I enjoyed. After a minute of awkward chit-chat he suggested that I might be interested in an 'endorsement company' business he worked with and offered the opportunity to 'get free stuff' and 'make extra money'. He was polite, if a little awkward, and I was pretty sure that it was going to be a scam, but I don't mind listening to people who are passionate about something... who knows, maybe someday something real will come along... so I gave him a G-Voice number and let him call me later with the pitch. He called the following afternoon and wanted to set up a time that I could log into a password protected web page and view a presentation. http://www.nsboverview.com User: nsboverview Password: webcast Or you can just go to the site that the login redirects you to (which is not password protected): http://www.nsbsystems.com/overview/overview.aspx But I can save you some time with a single word: Amway. I don't have a problem with Amway and actually was involved with it many years ago... it's just not something I'm interested in.... What I have a problem with someone flat-out lying to me about the business they are representing. I called Mr. Ryder back and told him that I was not interested and that I did not appreciate the way he misrepresented himself to me, and he became angry and attacked me telling me that not wanting to sell Amway was the reason that I would never go anywhere in life. It made me feel bad for the guy, in a way, but it also made me angry enough to post this. Josh - if you read this - you seemed like a decent enough guy... please go find a job with a company that doesn't force you to lie about who they are in order to start a sales conversation. |

The same exact thing happened to me a guy named Steve Spiro approached me in a deli and started asking me about if i played football and school and the company i was working for. He then got my number and i gave it too him because he seemed like he wanted to book with us. He then texted me say he wanted to talk to me and went as far as having me meet him for lunch to discuss this business plan he had been working on and told me he needed people to work for him and basically said he was starting a company involved with marketing. I was wary because something seemed off but like you i figured i might as well see what he is talking about because you never know. he has meet come to a hotel to meet his business partner Ed and he told me it was a meeting with just a few people. when i get there its a room full of mostly others around my age and some guy shouting about how great it was to be rich and how rich he was and how we could all be rich if we listened to him. At the end of the presentation they finally brought up that this great plan to get rich was to sell amway products...i feel that i was lied to and cheated out of 2 hours and that if amway is the reputable company they say they are they wouldn't have a bunch of scumbags lieing to people to bring them to meetings. |

You guys who post that crap are LOSERS. Someone offered you the best way to earn financial independence and you're so stupid and closed minded to realize that. So I guess you'll work a dumb job for the rest of your life or until you get fired. By the way, I can bet my last dollar that if you're married, your wife works a job because you're to stupid to get uncomfortable for a bit to provide some finacial freedom in your household. Lol |
