| I was givin a call about pay day loans and just by the way it sounded when i got the call i knew it was a scam, i had applied online gave out my information and now idk wat to do now that they have it. So i closed my bank account and thats all they want is my money. even tho i never put any money on my card i went ahead and did it for my well being. Now i have to worry about them haveing my social. I dont kno wat to do. The number that i was called from was 209-912-2108 from galt, ca they said it was a law firm and the name was jefferson and herderson, i went to google to look it up and it never showed up, i got threatined and all they got rude with me so i automaticly knew that it was a scam. I asked for then number so that i can contact the actual company and i was givin the same number but a different person he threateden to have police at my job to arrest me and i lose my job and serve time. They claimed that i had to go to court or go to jail and pay $5000 to them. What shal i do about my information and this situation? |

Same thing just happend to me today June, 2, 2011. This is a scam. Regarding your information, 1st contact your bank then the local athorities for a police report. Also, it's important to call the CA BBB, advise from a CA prosecutor so it can be recorded. I pressed the individual that I spoke with and he stated that he never practiced law or even went to law school, rather he was "born a lawyer". The number that I called to and from was from the same city. If anyone else recieves or gets a call from this number don't answer it or hang up. When you begin to ask questions, they will get very rude and will not answer the questions, rather they will start to threaten you again.
Remember, any attorney's office more than likely won't call you about being sued, you will be served, but not in the manner that this scam claims. This place stated that I was being sued for $182.52, court costs are double to triple that amount and no major company or business would sue anyone for that amount and if they would try, $5000 is not the amount since each state or jurisdiction is different around the United States.
If anyone else has this experience with this "company" please come on line to let others know. One last thing, this office doesn't exist in the U.S., rather it's a call center in Pakistan, the person that I spoke with admitted to this so this is a scam. He also stated that he has a disdane for American's and that we're stupid and don't know any better and are easy to scam., no I'm not making this up either.
Bottom line report it to the local authorities, contact your bank and credit reporting agencies, and the CA BBB. |
