First off, my bad for failing to inspect the work after picking up my truck. I didn't discover the whole mess under the hood until two weeks later... My truck had been in an accident and my a/c had stopped working so I took it to J-mac Complete Car Care. I was told it would be around $500.00+ to repair the damage to the system. More than I thought it should be, but it had been in an accident after all, so I gave the go ahead. I got a call later on saying they could not repair the old condenser and that they had to replace it which put the price @ $611.00 total. I painfully ok'd the work to be done. I picked up my truck the next day and drove off enjoying my new air conditioning. I was glad to check it off my to-do list, I got busy and didn't think about it again. Two weeks later, somebody cuts me off and I hit the horn but nothing happens. I think back and wonder if the horn wire is just loose from when J-mac worked on it. I park it in my driveway and try to pop the hood but the lever is mushy and nothing happens. I had to get a screw driver and fuss around with the latch for a while until I figured out how to pop it open. So the horn wire was loose. An easy fix. Done. Now the hood release cable. !!! It was completely miss-routed behind the release mechanism and could not sit in the cable stays. I had to unbolt and remove the whole catch and front grill, and the grill support brace in order to get the cable back into it's proper place. Idiots. I started begrudgingly fixing it myself rather than dealing with the time and hassle of driving all the way back and waiting for these pro's to do it right. As I'm working on the cable, I bumped the new a/c condenser panel with my hand and the bottom swings freely back and forth like a hinge. Every time I'd been driving it, it had been impaling itself against a cross brace and was visibly compromised and probably would have ruptured within another week. Imbeciles. I'm $611.00 dollars of angry. I called and arranged to bring it back so they could look at it. I showed my salesman, Mark, and a mechanic how messed up it all was and obviously rushed. Not a single apology was uttered. No mechanics were back-handed for their incompetence. I got only a weak little "We'll take care of that". How kind of them not to waste my time... It took them an hour and a half while I loitered in the area. Even then I had to call them to find out that they were done. I picked up my key from the office. Again, zero apology's and no discounts proffered when they had just wasted four hours of my day. I hope this post hit's them right in the wallet. J-mac needs to feel the self-inflicted consequences of doing business badly. Do not feed them. Do not give them your money.
