The service, “It’s Just Lunch,†is a dating service that cost $1,500, and guarantees and individual 8 local dates. The program taunts the fact that they take your hobbies, lifestyle, educational background, etc and connect you with a match that is well suited to your preferences and life. The service was a disaster from day one. Every date given to me was clearly just a “pimp†attempt. None of the girls had similar interest than me. Not a single one of my dates was local, and they were hardly in my “region.†Date 1 location: 1 hour, 25 minutes away Date 2 location: 2 hours, 20 minutes away Date 3 location: 1 hour, 30 minutes away Date 4 location: 1 hour, 30 minutes away Date 5 location: 2 hours away Date 6 location: 1 hour, 20 minutes away The 6 dates that I was actually given were no closer than 1 hour away. Notice I said SIX dates. I was promised eight, but was only given six! My “director†was pitiful the entire time, always breaking promises, etc. On one occasion, my director even had me drive to Indianapolis (an hour and 25 minutes away) for a meeting and never showed up. I managed to over look these problems and try to make the best of it. The real problem has derived from the fact that they didn’t give me all the dates that were promised, and no longer return my phone calls or other attempts to make contact. I have asked the company for a refund because I have clearly been wronged. They, like always, do not respond or make an attempt to satisfy me by providing me with the rest of my dates. I am in the process of pursuing legal action. That is a LOT of money to waste on something like this. It wasn’t the best investment from day one (I acknowledge this) but if I were provided the things promised in the contact, I would be more apt to forget about my bad experience. I will steer COMPLETELY CLEAR of this company. If you're sold on using a dating service, opt for a simply online service such as Match or eHarmony. Atleast with these companies, you can see your dates, ensure they will show up, and only spend a few bucks a month. |

I'd be interested in hearing input from others... I decided to try IJL, although I am skeptical about a service where I cannot talk to or even see pictures of the men I would be meeting. I hadn't even considered the two issues noted by this poster: the fact that I may have to drive absurd distances and/or 'no shows'. I have until midnight on Monday, November 7th to send in my cancellation letter..and I'm leaning in that direction. |
