ipages.com inefficiency in dealling with the technical problem, passing the buck and not solving the issue requested Burlington , Massachusetts |

I am using ipage for my webhosting, i am also taking advantage of the fact that I can use their "simple" design it in a day drop and drag design templates. I should state I spent 16 years as a Graphic Designer (not a web designer) so I should not have a problem with laying out pages and simple tasks. This program is unstable, work is not saved, and it moves around without you touching things (not good) when you think it is saved and you go into the publish mode (on another day) you discover an older version, especially if you are trying out in 2 different web browsers (their suggestion) the save button does not work, when you tell the technical support guys, they respond saying it is a design problem not a technical one (pressing a button is technical as I have pointed out to them) One technical support man put in a test page on my website to prove it could be deleted and there was nothing wrong with the system, he told me he had deleted it, but this is clearly from his end. It is still on my website in the published version Despite re editing and publishing at least 8 times today I am unable to get a correct version of my website, each time I go into it something has moved. When you check the edit files most times they are all correct and as they should be, but the published version is incorrect Today it not only has the test page (still on it) but it has old text on it as well! wonderful. I have had problems logging in not only to the site that does not accept my password but also the site lock which the support team only responded to after 3 attempts to access it because they said it is clear I am having a problem. I AM VERY VERY ANGRY each time you used the typing system of live chat, you have to explain the problems (now 8 times) they tell you they only have 3 minutes and bo,y they cut you off without resolving the issues, they give you a solution that does not work, they tell you it is ok their end so it must be wrong your end, it must be the browser, change it, clear the cache, clear the cookies, now it is the ISP providers fault because they are storing old files, apparently my email was also faulty (it is not of course - as even this scam report site have sent an email to me today) It is everyones fault except their program. In addition to the test page which is obstinate and refusing to be deleted A page I did not want to delete was deleted by mistake, as I said this program is not stable After clicking the dialogue box to delete a blank page, my home page was deleted instead, because the page order shifted on its own. When I asked the technical support if I could retreive it from the files, they said no, you cannot save weebly drop and drag files ( this is nonsense, I had already published the site and was making changes, all computers save files so there must be a file somewhere for this page) I had to re type it all It's all very well having a polite line of chat such as: "have a nice day", "we are here 24/7", "thank you for chatting call us any time" and "we are sorry for the inconvenience", everytime someone calls but this is not good customer service, as I have stated to them: Good customer service is providing what the customer needs and asks for, it is dealing with the problem and resolving it - they are incapable of doing this. I am not stupid, I know that in a call centre you cannot get back to the same person who was dealing with you, so don't offer to take a future call from me or get me to ask for you - I am miles away in England and the phone service does not work (I have tried to call them directly) these people all know they are untraceable once that line goes down, you cannot get them back, they are off the hook - literally. THEY ARE TAKING THE MICKEY OUT OF US ALL Plus they seem a little dumb and are impatient, as I have pointed out to them - it takes a little time to type the response so do not keep asking "did you get my message" "did you get my message" I am in the process of typing it. I asked for names and addresses of the top managers and never got them, I asked for help in terms of files and HTML where to place the coding (the root files are complex) I have continually asked for help in sorting out the un saved changes. I have asked for a receipt for my money and not got it I have sent a compaint to Gary Angel (no response yet) My asking for help or to return my money has also not got a response I don't know what to do because I have do the entire website (5 pages again if I go eslsewhere and I dont have the time or money, I am out of work, I need this site to attract customers) It is disgraceful. |
