In december of 2002 I purchased a 2003 Saturn VUE AWD from Saturn. Shortly after purchasing the car there was a recall on the axel. With in the year of purchase the Transmission died on the car it was "fixed" not replaced about a year after again the transmission died again it was "fixed" not replaced. The 3rd was a little less then 3 years ago at that time our local saturn dealer had closed I had to pay $200 to a transmission shop to check the car and pay $80 to have it towed I was told the car transmission was no longer under warranty and had to pay a little over $400 for yet another "fixed". Now the transmission went yet again. I had it towed to the dealer to be told the entire transmission needs to be replaced at $4800. I calledd GM gave the rep my info she asked me the milage and I told her I wasn't sure it was probably 120,000 but she should confirm. after a week and numerous calls back and forth being told the car is not under warranty due to the high milage alone. I realize they never confirmed, after speaking to Rep #2 she tells me well we go by what you say. I called the dealer was told the car has 80,400 miles. I call rep #2 another week drones by and I am told the car is not under warranty because it's over 8 yrs old and no longer under warranty. However, they are being nice and will give me 50/50 split on the car repair. I speak to rep #2 and she basically tells me well if you don't want to use the 50/50 split that we don't have to give you anyway. We'll give you $5,000 towards a new GM car. I decided to attempt to write to GM. Historically I have puchased 3 saturns and numerous GM cars. I though perhaps they'd see me as a valued customer. Apparently they didn't here is a quote from there email to me. "Again, I have reviewed your Service Request 71-913451924 with the Saturn Customer Assistance Center. I support the decision that was previously made and communicated to you. I apologize that the decision was not in accordance with your wishes, however, this is the final decision of General Motors and we will no longer address additional communications on this subject. Please feel free to contact us again with any other concerns you may have outside of this issue" So basically they car not for their customers. Now I have a $24,000 lawn ornatment that I can't do anything with. I have filed complaints with the BBB and Consumer Affrairs. Oh the GM rep #3 told me they where going to be nice and give me 3 months to come up with $2,000++ for the repairs. Thanks GM for making a Loyal customer decide to NEVER purchase another GM car/truck or part again. I will ensure that everyone I know is aware of horrible practices and service you provide. |
