Promoter idfestival.com advertised on their website and on Ticketmaster and LiveNation the following advertisement: Ticketmaster advertisement: Skullcandy Presents IDENTITY Festival $20 Tickets for 20 Hours! Starting at 9am local time, you have only 20 hours to grab a ticket to any IDENTITY Festival show to see Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Steve Aoki, DJ Shadow, Avicii, Afrojack, Rusko, the Crystal Method, the Disco Biscuits, Steve Lawler and TONS MORE! idfestival.com advertisement: $20 for 20 hours July 11, 2011 Courtesy of our friends at SKULLCANDY, this Wednesday, July 13, Skullcandy is bringing you, for 20 hours only, free-roaming General Admission tickets for only $20 (fees included)!! Thats right, ONLY $20 for a GA ticket to any one of the announced IDENTITY shows!! Starting at 9am local time on Wednesday, you have only 20 hours (so until 5am local time Thursday) to grab a ticket to any IDENTITY Festivalshow. Head HERE to grab your $20 ticket and see you this summer! This entry was posted in News. Bookmark the permalink. During the process of trying to order my ticket within the 20 hour period, the tickets went up to $62.85 for general admission. I tried to speak to an agent during the purchasing process to discuss the discrepancy, but the Ticketmaster office was closed. Figuring that there may have been human error in entering the ending time of the promotion, I purchased my ticket (57-19840 WES ) and hoped to get the price adjustment in the morning. I spoke to operator R815E the following day, who informed me that once the sale is over, there is nothing they can do. I am asking Ticketmaster and Skullcandy to honor their promotion. I do believe that it is an illegal business practice to "bait and switch" and I believe this is what happened here. In addition, there was no disclaimer or mention in the promotion that there was a specific number of tickets available. The promotion was clear in its wording stating IDENTITY Festival $20 Tickets for 20 Hours! I have contacted by phone or email: Ticketmaster, LiveNation, Skullcandy and emailed the promoters idfestival.com. I am asking Ticketmaster, a reputable company, to honor the promotion and do a price adjustment for my ticket since it was their website I fell for their promotion. So far, the response I have received is, "Sorry". I would like to further pursue this issue. |
