I ordered flowers via internet through Proflowers. The ProFlowers website offered free shipping for the flowers and I completed the information requested to get the free shipping. The shipping charges were supposed to be reduced from my invoice at checkout, but they were not. Since it was only $9.00 I didn't worry much about it and just let it go. I kept getting odd junk mail from kgbdeals.com and other sites that offer coupons for services but I just deleted them thinking nothing of it. Then I just noticed that IC FreeShipping.com CT has been charging my credit card $12.97 for the last 4 months without my noticing it or without my authorization. I called IC FreeShipping.com CT and they told me that I signed up with them and authorized the services. I DID NOT. I completed the information with ProFlowers to purchase the flowers but it seems all that information was shared with and/or transferred to IC FreeShipping.com CT. They claim they will refund me in a few days. I have also alerted my credit card company of the fraudulent charges. IC FreeShipping.com CT refuses to provide me proof of my authorization or "sign up" with them and they claim they don't have to legally. They claim that because they have my email addresss and a password, that is proof that I signed up with them. I thought I was signing in with ProFowers. I would think that if they are charging my credit card, then they are legally required to provide me with proof of the service I allegedly signed up for. This is a total scam and because of the low dollar amount, it doesn't stand out when reviewing the credit card statement and therefore easily missed. Very clever of them I would say but they should be investigated and stopped. |

I will never buy from ProFlowers again for being so unethical to align themselves with this scam. I wonder how much they paid ProFlowers to participate. I complained immediately to Proflowers, and could kick myself for not noticing that they were taking money from my account for over a whole year. $11.97/month to be exact. Small enough to go unnoticed. When I called the toll free number by googling(the number shown on your cc stmt conveniently is incomplete) the so called free shipping company agreed to refund 12 of their monthly petty theft transactions. |
