I ordered a 30-trial TV offer from the Neat Company on 1/1/11 where they offer the use of both their NeatReceipts (NR4_TV) and NeatDesk (ND1_TV) on a 30 day basis to try the product which organizes your paperwork via scanning to the computer. The product appears to be worthwhile and they offered me to try both models to see which one I wanted on a 30-day trial and charged my cc as agreed with $29.90. The merchandise was shipped on 1/7/11 and billed to my debit card that day. Today on 2/7/11 I called for the return authorization of the desk model and was told the 30 days started on 1/1 when I placed the order, not on 1/7 when they actually shipped or 2/9 when I actually received the merchandise! They stated I could not return EITHER item as the 30 days was over on 2/1. Now their e-mail informed today (2/7) me they have now charged by card with another $99.95 with a balance due of $449.70 and $49.95 with a balance due of $549.65 on two seperate e-mails! I am contesting the charges with my bank and cancelled my card so they cannot slip any other charges on me. What a deceptive ripoff!!!

This company is very dishonest and deceiving - when I called I specifically asked their salesperson if the 30-day free trial would start from the day that I'd receive the unit and actually test it - she was emphatic in saying, "absolutely! You free-trial starts from the day you receive it" - After testing it and seeing that is not for my non-profit organization, because it takes too long to scan, to file each receipt, etc, so I called them before the end of my 30-day free trial and asked for the return label. So, the guy said that he was going to email me the UPS label and that everything was fine. HOWEVER, at the very next day, for my surprise, they had charged me the full amount of the machine!!! When I called them complaining they said that they charge the full amount once the 30-day is over and they will just issue a refund 10 days after they get the scanner back. So, what kind of "30-day free trial" is this??? A total rip off!! This company has no principles, is deceiving and dishonest!! Not they lie about their "free trial program" but they also make tons of money with our money, holding it for at least 20 or even more days, because you need to wait for them to send you the UPS label, then you need to ship it back and then just after 10 days after they receiving the scanner they may issue you your refund. DON'T FALL FOR THEIR SCAM!!!

I called to get information before ordering neat receipt - I specifically asked if it would work with my Mac operating system, 10.4.11, because I had an older iMac. The sales person said "Yes" to that. When I received the product it wouldn't work with my system. It requires 10.5.8 or later.

They are refunding the shipping I paid to receive it, and providing me with a label to return it, but won't have it picked up even though it is a twenty-two mile round trip for me to take it to UPS. I spoke with three of their returns and customer service people, and they simply said that it wasn't their policy to schedule pickups.

They said I could schedule to have it picked up by UPS, and submit the receipt to them for a refund, IF they found that I had actually specified that I needed the product to work with my 10.4.11 operating system when I made the purchase. That would be even worse than the round trip to town (I live in the country) as I would have to arrange the pickup, contact them to request the refund, then track my credit card statements to be sure they not only do not charge me for the product, but that they refund ALL shipping charges - to, from, and pickup.

I've already wasted way too much time on the phone with them, and writing about my experience with them here, but it's a matter of principle.

If your time is valuable, think twice about doing business with Neat Co.

i purchased the Neat nd100 in 03/21/2013. It was installed on 03/24/2014 and used it to scan 1 document, they try to scam me by purchasing the loud and sync feature. I didn't purchase the cloud and sync and no the neat scanner don' t work. They said i am out of warranty and the scanner isn't working.

Please let me know if anybody has experience the same issue?

I am ready to start a class action Lawsuit.
