I had sent a picture to them thinking they were a legit company of my pet. Within one day they said he was chosen to be in a book "The Most Adorable Pets in America" and to pre-pay to get a copy of the book. To which I ordered two, one for myself and one for my parents. After looking online, I saw that many people have been scammed by this and the books never come and money is continually taken from their account after the fact. This is the email I have sent to them: My name is Stacy..you just sent an email to myself regarding Layne Stayley (my cat). I have in return sent you $$ for his entry into a book, which is a scam.. I have a lawyer lined up and the Ripoff Report company involved. All you need to do is refund my: Transaction ID: 3444556404 $19.99 and Transaction ID: 3444542565 $168.90 Total amount of refund: $188.89 If this is NOT refunded promtly by today, my lawyer who has already looked into this will be contacting you and there WILL be a lawsuit for your scam. If you continue to take money from my account be warned, we will shut you down. He has been up against bigger scams than you. All you need to do is refund the money. Stacy (pet's name Layne Stayley) (End of email) I hope to get my money refunded, I just really want to stop them from doing this to anyone else. I seems like they continue and haven't been stopped in the past. It angers me, not only for the money aspect, but people pride themselves in their pets, and to be taken advantage of while just trying to be a good pet owner and show pride in your pet is just a shameful act on someones part. I would have loved to see my pet in a book, I was super proud of him, now I just feel like a fool for thinking such a thing could really happen. These people are just taking advantage of us, and I wish to stop them and prevent them from obtaining the money if I can, I would like to go after them legally, but just do not know how to. Please help! Stacy, Indianapolis, Indiana |
