My case is against Elroy Roberts productions in Ft Worth Texas. He is running a huge scam throughout Texas. He ran an ad in the newspaper looking for gospel talent throughout the area to audition for a concert with Dorothy Norwood. I went to the audition which was at a church in Dallas called Children of God Ministries on Lancaster Rd.
When we go there he hadn't yet arrived. He was late. While there a man stated the only reason he came was because he had tickets to the previous show that didn't take place. Elroy Roberts finally showed up and the auditions began. There were not many people there with any talent but they all seemed to get a spot in the show.
When it came my time to audition I sung my song but they had me sing again to make sure I was really qualified or as we say in the church anointed.
So then after waiting and waiting he met with me and my husband in a small office. He stated that I had a great gift and he wanted me to be one of the solos in the opener for Dorothy Norwood. But that we had to agree to sell 100 tickets in order to do so. My husband told him that we would not sell 100 tickets but would start with 50 tickets. My husband also asked him what guarantee he would make that I would be in the show. He signed a paper stating that "Keshia J Young-Neal will open up for Dorothy Norwood & Lillian Lilly at Carver Heights BC in Dallas Tx on 2/26/2011. Must sell 50 tickets. Once tickets are sold name and photo will be on the flyers."
He signed this and so did my husband and I. He then gave me a schedule for practices. The practices were scheduled for every Saturday but they really weren't practices they were actually just to turn in ticket money. The first practice was scheduled for January 1, 2011 from 4-8pm.
Before January 1st they began calling me and my husband 4-5 times a day and making sure we are coming. Then they started saying you don't have to come to practice just wire the money to us and you can skip this practice. These phone calls went on for a week. Then they started calling my mom and sister because they were on my contact sheet in case they wanted to reach me and couldn't. And lying to them telling them they wanted me to call them so that I could discuss promotions and flyers. On January 5 we wired them $465 to them for the first set of 25 tickets. Since then we haven't heard anything from them. We have been calling them and they won't return our calls or answer the phone. I googled them and nothing came up but scams. They are running this same scam all across Texas. I want this to stop and I want my money back plus I have to reimburse the people who bought tickets from me for this bogus show that he said was going to happen and has now miraculously been cancelled. The church they were supposedly having it at isn't even advertising for it or selling tickets themselves. I want justice, I want my money and I want them put out of business!!!!! |
