HSBC/HFC scam on 2nd Mortg Baltimore, Maryland |
8th of Dec, 2011 by User855504 |
Got a 2nd mortgage for $78,000.00 over 7 1/2 years ago . It was to be a 15 year mortgage at 11.9% interest. Today I still owe more than I borrowed. At this rate in 99 years I will still owe them the amount I borrowed. They set the payments up at $792 per month, all goes to interest. So I started paying an extra $250 per month for several months. It still showed no principal payments. I ask about it, was told I'm paid ahead in a special account, but they can't take it off of the principal. I quit paying them 4 months ago. They took the advance pay and applied to interest until it was gone. I now find out the first 7 years the payment was .08 short the first month. So they charged me $25 late fee every month because of the one payment was short .08. They told me what to pay, they set it up. I have written over 30 letters to them, yet to received a response to one of them. So 4 months I quit making the payments, I put the money in a savings account each month. I'm going to Sue them for fraud, etc. Let a Jury tell me this is ok for them to screw the customers like that. When I get about half of it saved I will offer them a pay off with 50% discount. There is not much they can do, as the house is worth about what the 1st Mortgage is and those payments are paid ahead. If they try t foreclose, it will cost them plenty and they will have to pay 1st Mortgage off. If they chose to do that down the road, i will go down the street and buy a like house for 1/2 of what I owe on this one. I will not just go away, I will hire Attorney's and fight them to the end. They are such crooks. They tell you what a good company they are, are you kidding, just read the complaints, almost all the same complaint. The Feds need to put their foot on them. See below what they say on their web site. *************************************************************************** About Us Our tradition of caring makes us the name people trust.
