Howard Pilch, divorce attorney, got $10,000 from me to work on my divorce case. I had prior lawyer that was working on my case for the past year and a half, I stop working with him because of his lack of knowledge in divorce case. I took my case to Howard to get the final settlement ASAP. He knew I didn't have much time, because my house can fall for foreclosure. My prior attorney did majority of work, I went to Howard for negotiating a better deal. In the two and a half month that I had my case with Howard, not just he couldn't negotiate a better deal he was also abusive on the phone, shouting at me and making me feel stupid. He had a 10 day frame to respond to my ex-husband offer which he did not call him in that 10 days. Howard's respond was; I was busy with an emergency case! And my respond was within 10 days you couldn't make a phone call to agree with their settlement offer? I had to chase him down every time. His lack of knowledge about my case was another problem. I had to remind him every time about what needs to be done and he would turn things around and kept positioning my case. there was many other incidents that he didn't get back to me on time because he was busy with other cases or traveling! when I took back my case from him and took it to first lawyer, the first lawyer told me my ex-husband attorney has no more offer on the table because we did not respond on time. Now I'm paying so much more money to my attorney ( first attorney) to file a hearing motion, and obviously that would work against me because I was hoping to get the settlement from my ex-husband so I can save my house and not letting it to go for foreclosure.
