Not only will you NOT get enough miles you will NOT be paid on time if at all, after reading the content below you will understand why I say that. In October 2011 I went to work for Hoosier Tradewinds as a lease purchase driver, this is something I would not normally have done but they where offering $1.05 per practical mile plus the fuel sir charge in this case they where paying 0.33 cents per mile that’s a total of $1.38 per practical mile. The truck they gave to lease was a 2007 freightliner with 500,000 miles on it for $280.73 per week. In the 7 weeks I drove the peace of equipment I incurred fortunately no repairs. Ok now you know the fundamentals. Now lets look at the reasons for this being a Bad Experience Leasing A Truck Bad Experience Leasing A Truck #1 To start with they just could not give me enough miles, they state on there website that owner operator average 3000 mile per week. I was averaging around 2500 piles per week running everything they gave me and only being home once every two week for a reset (34 to 48 hours), when I brought this fact to the attention of management, I was told the company only averages between 2500 and 3000 miles per week.. Bad Experience Leasing A Truck #2 7 days after I talked with management I came home after being on the road for two weeks for another short weekend, I found no pay waiting for me I was expecting two checks but there was nothing, zip as in NO MONEY!!!! When there should have been over $1700.00, so I contacted payroll and told them I was not moving the truck until I got my back pay deposited in my bank account, need less to say 3 days past before the money has been deposited, the following day I would have been ready to roll but the pay for that should have been deposited that day for the previous pay period was NOT deposited. Bad Experience Leasing A Truck #3 Hoosier Tradewinds might start you off with 1000 to 1300 mile runs but that will change after the first few weeks in my case I when from 1200 to 1300 mile runs to around 500 miles per run and as little as 250 miles per run, **ll I don’t like short runs if paid by the mile as a company driver much less a owner operator. As of right now they still owe me over $3000.00 Additional information is listed on my blog at http://truckingtruth.wordpress.com/2011/12/03/my-personal-experience-with-hoosier-tradewinds-truck-leasing-program/
