High Top Tree Service Richard Zebas / Owner of High Top Tree Service He took my money and never did the job! I heard I'm doing your job TODAY!, for 3
7th of Mar, 2013 by User485239
High Top Tree Service should be avoided at all costs! He said he would do two tree trimming jobs for two of my rentals in Tucson, AZ for $500.00. He invoiced me and I paid him the $500 as agreed. It turned out that he only had done one of the jobs. One tenant said he did a good job and I couldn't get ahold of the other tenant so I was stupid and trusted him and sent him the $500.00. Any legitimate company still would have honored the agreement we had. Well, a While goes by and my tenant calls and asked when the tree is getting done. I couldn't believe it. I know I shouldn't have sent him the money, even thought he sent the invoice but again, if he was an honest guy it wouldn't have been an issue. So, since I paid him I was now at HIS mercy. I couldn't just say forget him and hire someone else. So, I called each day to hear a different excuse of why he hasn't done the job yet. He told me he got a DUI and lost his license and had no ride (he is a business owner???). He told me how his equipment wasn't working, his truck broke down, his crew was hungover and blah blah. Every day he said, "I promise I'm on my way to your job!" He would swear to call me and I would never hear from him. This went on for 3 months! The longer it went on the more mad but the more stupid I felt. Then he called one day and said he had just gone to the property. I was so excited thinking its finally getting done. He said he saw the tree and it was bigger than he thought (yes, he bid the job but had never even looked at the tree) and he would need another $100.00! He hadn't even earned the first $500.00 and now he wants more? All kinds of red flags went up but I just wanted the job done and said fine, do the job and ill send another $100.00. Still weeks went by and even with the hopes of more money the guy couldn't get the job done. He stopped returning my calls and finally I had had enough and realized he was not going to do this job, he was just waiting for me to give up.....and I finally did. I found a friend to do the job at a reasonable cost. But i still paid $200-$300 for a job that he never did! My last message to Richard was I want $200 back or I will be spreading the word about him. Well, I got no response and so obviously he doesn't care about his reputation and business. At this point I just want to make sure that no one else is ripped off by this guy! It would be nice to have my $200 back but if even one person sees this rip off report and doesn't hire Richard Zebas from High Top Tree Service in Tucson, AZ, it will have been worth it!
