They contacted me through online resume said they wanted a "Certified Identity Theft" person, then they have you call a # for info on the "company" takes an 1 hour.. they don't call you and you are put on a conference call and your lines are muted (so you can't ask any questions etc.) then this man talks for an hour (I am pretty sure that it is a tape made to sound like a live person, but like I said you can't say anything because they mute all the lines) they go through this whole speel about Identity theft and then they wait til the end and tell you that you are required to get your own PPL (pre paid legal) account at 39.99 A MONTH (this guy says it is so you can tell new clients your experiences w/ PPL) and you have to go to PPL and do their certification before being hired at Harvard Risk Management Corp. Now mind you this is someone looking for a JOB..I think it is a appalling.. Not only did I have to use my MINS., TIME, then they wanted my money too. Be aware!!! Don't waste your time/money. |

I used to be a recruiter for a very large well known Insurance Company. This recruitment method is not that unusual. That is how all large insurance companies gather new people to work for them. It works for hard working, self starters, bottom line. Money is always to be made in sales, but you do need to work for it. Also, as far as 'buying the product' first, before you sell, this is normal also. I sell jewelry currently, there you also need to purchase products in order to sell. What is the difference? Really people. This is just a normal business structure. Not a scam, but a normal business plan. There is lots of money to be made in any sales program that is on commission only. The difference is if you have self discipline and are able to talk to people. Remember, there is usually 'no free lunch'. I remember a true story I heard about a man who worked for a very large insurance company. He worked very hard for 7 years before he connected with the right customers who changed his business. That may seem like a long time but in this type of biz it takes time. One must be patient and keep working hard. Then the payoff happens. AND I think the best thing is there are residuals. That is the treat in the rears! Best wishes! |

We are watching this company in Az very closely. They target people struggling, looking for work in Phx az frequently. There are similar companies like this in phx who victimize people looking for work..using there cars, gas, time, cell phns and leads and pay them diddly squat even if they get a sale. Its always straight commision. Google us at Phoenix scams Exposed for any assistance!! |

To all the negative whiners on here. Would you consider selling real estate a legitimate business? I worked in real estate and guess what? I had to pay for ALL my own expenses including, taking the state required test and subsequent licensing. I had to buy my own business cards, advertising supplies and pens. The only things furnished by the company were a telephone and a desk. Why? Because a real estate agent is categorized as an 'Affiliate Broker' and the owner of the real estate office is the 'Broker.' Yes they sell a legitimate product but after paying all of my own expenses guess what again? I worked for six months and didn't make a DIME! So how can you knock HRMC which is in essentially the same business.
I would imagine an insurance broker operates in much the same manner. Are there any out there who could enlighten us? Thank you. |

Oh and I almost forgot. HRM told me I did not need to buy a thing to begin working as a recruiter but it takes longer to start making money that way. I do have the option however to begin recruiting first and then purchase whatever I want to once I make a little money. At my request, the regional manager in my local area emailed me a complete list of the 'Provider Law Firms' and their contact info (all 1-800 numbers so won't cost me a thing) that provide services to members of Legal Shield. I'm sorry people but unless I am missing something I don't see a scam here.
I was also informed HRM does not take kindly to its agents misrepresenting the products or the company and they are given 3 strikes and they are OUT! So I think they are trying hard to be on the level. |

Harvard Risk Management is a pyramid scheme.
Anyone who is defending it here is an "employee" of the HRM and is trying to do damage control so that they can sign up more people for their pyramid scheme, because that's the only way you can make money with this company.
Don't waste your money on this. You're better off continuing your job search until you find a real job at a company that isn't trying to scam you. |
