Guttilla and Guttilla Life Changing Bad Advice from a so called Certified Public Accountant Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey |
16th of Jun, 2011 by User782306 |
From 2009 to 2010 Phil Guttilla was our accountant for LiDonne Consulting, LLC. In September of 2009 he was supposed to create a tax form 941 for us to be sent to the IRS for tax purposes. He failed to inform us of this fact and in March 2011 we received a letter from the IRS stating that they did not receive form 941 from Sept.2009. He was emailed by me the same day I received this letter from the IRS. He was given the opportunity after my request to contact our new accountant with the information that the new accountant would need to be able to fill out this form 941 for us, but he chose not to contact the new accountant. We didn't want to wait for Mr. Guttilla because he is not a professional in his field and we didn't want someone of his nature to mess up the tax form 941, so we let him know that we didn't want him to create the tax form for us.In November of 2009 we had to start paying unemployment insurance because we became an S Corporation making my wife and I employee's of our own company. Mr. Guttilla told both of us, my wife and I while we were in his office that we had to pay for unemployment insurance, but we would not be able to collect unemployment from our own company. He encouraged us to take low amounts on our bi weekly paychecks to avoid paying a lot of money in state and federal taxes. Taking the word of a "so called" professional we followed along with his ideas. When I had to file for unemployment in 2010 I was told by the Dept.of Labor that I could in fact collect unemployment checks, but because of the fact that my paychecks to myself were so small that I could only collect $300/week. This was a HUGE finacial burden on us because of the fact that we took small paychecks because Mr. Guttilla suggested to us that we do it that way. "He still to this day has never apologized to us for his professional bad advice." And now we have to live with financial debt to this day because of his non professional advice to his customers.
