Grove Boys Pool Service Bryan Joseph The owner of Grove Boys sent me nasty, rude messages and tried to screw us and take advantage! Plantation, Florid |

We were using Grove Boys pool services for awhile. One week, they didn't come at all, but claimed they came and it started raining so they were unable to finish the job-- they were still paid for it, but didn't ever come back to finish it. Instead, they waited until they were scheduled and paid again. Last month, I received a call from the owner telling me that we have a bee hive and a broken hose that we need to take care of before he will return. We took care of both of those problems before Grove Boys next scheduled visit. This is the only problem Bryan has ever come to me with. Last week I started shopping for a new pool company. The day after I e-mailed a new pool company , while I was at work, Bryan came on his regular scheduled visit. He called me and left the RUDEST message EVER stating all these problems that were wrong that he has NEVER brought up before. He said that there was dog hair stuck in the impeller. He also said he's had to shock the pool for the past 6 weeks, which he didn't tell us until he left the message. First of all, if he was PROPERLY maintaining our pool, then he wouldn't need to shock it 6 weeks in a row. The message said he hadn't decided whether or not he would ever come back. I made it easy and told him not to come back since clearly they hadn't been properly maintaining our pool anyway! When we fired him, he said that he wasn't going to charge us for shocking the pool, but now he's decided to charge us for all of the shocking treatments and that he would have it on our last bill. At this point, I saw how much of an asshole he could be and I knew that he would try to screw us over. I started doing my research the minute that I got home. I called local pool companies to see how much they charge their clients for shocking their pools. To my surprise, the 2 companies that I called, said they don't charge ANYTHING. Shocking in included. I took notes and names from each place that I called. I told one of the guys what our situation was and that we didn't know how much we were being charged yet, but we knew that we were going to be charged. He said "It sounds like they're trying to pull a fast one!" I also researched how much it would cost for me to purchase the shocking chemicals myself. So, we got the bill and the charge was $125 for shocking. I e-mailed Bryan and asked if this was for all 6 treatments. He said it wasn't and that he only decided to charge me for one. $125 for ONE treatment! UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE! According to this link: http://www.intheswim.com/Pool-Chemicals/Pool-Shock-and-Super-Chlorinating-Chemicals/Pool-Shock/ I could buy 480,000 gallons worth of shocking treatment for $121.99! That's enough to shock our 13,000 gallon pool 16 times! Anyway! Bryan has been EXTREMELY rude throughout this whole situation and has made comments like "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that dog hair will get clogged in the impellor" (Hello! Our dog has been swimming in the pool every weekend for almost a year now and you're JUST telling us about this problem?!) & "You can't see the dog hair? Maybe you should get your eyes checked!" & more! I recommend that nobody use these guys! |
