Grande Shores Resort GrandeShores Rental They Don't Disclose About The Construction Work Going On While You Book Then Tell You When You Arrive Sorry N |

On the 5th day of June 2011 we arrived at the Grande Shores Resort in Myrtle Beach SC. We proceeded to check in our OceanFront 3 bedroom condo. Upon looking at the room we immediately called the front desk to speak with the manager to ask if we can change rooms. We were unsatisfied with the view overlooking the pools on the 7th floor and the level of the room on the 8th floor. The reservationist who made our reservation assured me we will be on an upper floor away from the pool and all the noise associated. And not to worry we will be completely satisfied with our stay at the Grande Shores Resort, and that they manage five other resorts in which they can accommodate us in any way if we were unsatisfied. We also added travel insurance to the reservation in case of any problems with the vacation that may arise. At this time the front desk replied if we left now we would not get a refund and connected me to the reservation dept who said there are no other rooms at this resort to move into and the only solution is to move to an ocean view room in the resort behind the Grande Shores Resort. With no other options we began our stay in this room. Only to find the smell of paint from the above floors being renovated was so intense to cause headaches with paint dripping on our hands, hair, eyes and the hand rail, eventually making it on our clothes. We found that the wireless internet did not function correctly, the audio from the TV was distorted, and my guests being woke at 1:00 am from people swimming in the pool after it closed at 10:00 pm. The construction went on the whole week we stayed with grinding concrete ear ringing noises in the parking decks, to rude and obnoxious behavior of the crews closing the hallways, exit stairways, painting doors, walls, ceilings and tying up the elevators, made the stay very uncomfortable. The finding of paint on both vehicles was a little too much. My father had words to the staff only to leave frustrated and left the resort early. We had to stay longer than my expected check out time to have my truck washed and inspected for further damage and missed the opportunity to arrive at our family reunion in Waycross Ga. I feel this all could have been avoided, if the Grande Shores Resort had mentioned to us about the renovation talking Place. Furthermore accommodate us in the way they promised when we booked our stay one month prior. Surely there is some kind of recourse! Very Unsatisfied Guest |
