Grand Crowne Resorts Lied to us repeatedly, Said anything to get us to sign Branson, Missouri
12th of Oct, 2011 by User243154
This location of Grand Crowne Resorts is in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They get you to the sales presentation by offering free show tickets. They get you there totally unprepared. They know if you had time to research their company you would never show up. Once in the sales presentation they tell you anything and everything you want to hear about how their timeshare will save you lots of money year after year for your vacations. One of my first questions was "would I lose money if I decide to sell this timeshare in the future?". Their reply is to "expect to break even or gain a small profit". Truth is you can't give these timeshares away. They set up the entire program so that if you do try to resell, the new purchaser would not receive any of the flexible vacation dates or destinations. Therefore they are stuck in one location with the same dates every year and a huge yearly maintenance fee! You cannot ever cancel the deed or the maintenance fee! But that was just one of many lies. They were in the process of building the resort and said it would be completed soon. Almost two years later not one room was built. But you still had to pay all maintenance fees and monthly mortgage fees! We were told that if we didn't need to use the timeshare we could always rent it out and profit from it. Later when we inquired about renting out the timeshare they said we could only rent to family members. Yet I have an audio recording of the slaesman explaining exactly how to rent out the timeshare for a profit to anyone! I could go on with several other lies but you get the idea. If these people were legitimate they would not have to suck in unsuspecting and unprepared vacationing people as their victims. They would also offer you the ability to cancel everything with a reasonable cancellation fee. Instead we are on the hook for a mortgage of thousands of dollars and yearly maintenance fees over $500 that will follow us to our grave even if we never use the timeshare!
