Grab Swag
Grab Swag False Advertising, Stealing, Lies , Internet
9th of Jul, 2011 by User610350
Site advertises signing up for 10 free credits, then they charge you $99.
Also, as you bid on items, every bid cost 75 cents.
Whether you win or lose the item, you still pay for the bids.
Once you take into account all of the people who are paying for "bids" they are collectively all paying much more than the actual value of the item.
They advertise that items sell for 90% less than retail, but in actuality, once you've paid for all of the bids, it could end up costing MORE than if you were to just go buy the items from the retailers. Here is my example: I signed up thinking I was going to get 10 free bids just for signing up. They asked for my card information. There was NO CONFIRMATION PAGE for me to declare that I agreed to any kind of charge. (There was a $99 charge applied to my card)
As I went through the site (not realizing I had been charged for my "bidding rights") I decided to try it out on an Apple TV. Sunday afternoon, bidding was strong. I personally dropped 80 "bids" on this item. 80 bids cost $60. (That I hadn't realized I had been charged for at the time) The winning bid was for $8.60. Assuming I had won this item after my 80 bids, my actual cost would have been $68.60 + 4.95 for shipping. Total of $73.55. But Grab Swag would advertise this item as being won for $ 8.60! LIE!! I wasn't even the one who put in the most bids on this item. When I started watching this item it was at around $1.35. So . . . in the time that I had watched it, it moved from $1.35 all the way up to $8.60. (All bids go in one cent increments) That's a total bid count of 725 bids. Take 725 and multiply it by 75 cents . . . GrabSwag made a whopping $543.75 on this $99 item. ALL those other bidders are out their cost for "bids" . . . whether they win the item or not!! This site is a TOTAL SCAM. False advertising all over the place. They are making TONS of money off of people. Total Scam. Before I signed up I wanted to figure out exactly how it worked. Looked all over the internet, couldn't find ANYTHING to describe how the site worked. This site should be avoided at all costs. You can win these items for less on Ebay.
