Before I begin my tragic story with this very unprofessional company, I want to say if you do not get to read this whole thing TRUST ME YOU DO NOT WANT THIS COMPANY TO MOVE YOU, UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO LOSE AND DAMAGE YOUR HOUSEHOLD GOODS AS WELL AS CHANGE DATES ON YOU! This situation happened with my wife while I was and still am in Iraq. I was not home for this move, which is the only reason we needed movers because i didn't want my wife to suffer trying to move our household goods with little help. Just like many people we googled moving companies, and put our email and contact in the first couple websites that have these so called moving companies call you back. The first company we declined because they charged too much, but they also gave us advice, which I wish we would have stuck to. They said "Do not let anyone give you a quote unless they have actually inventoried your items in person." Out of all the next couple of moving companies, GLOBE MOVING AND STORAGE AKA GLOBE EXPRESS MOVING out of Garden City, Kansas was the cheapest. Although they didn't come to the house, my wife told them almost exactly what we had because the previous company left an itemized quote with her. They told us that we shouldn't have to pay no more than around $2,100.00 give or take a little more. The sales reps name was Sebastian. He also told my wife that she will not be charged for them to box anything up since the only items left were the beds, because my wife packed up the whole house. The day the movers arrive they start to move our household goods in the truck and make comments to my wife saying this is going to be a whole lot more that $2,100. The guy says it was going to be around $4,000. My wife called my computer in Iraq and told me what he said, but by this time is what too late to find any more movers because we had to be out in 2 days. WE WERE STUCK! As they are moving our items my wife is telling them to be more careful, because they were basically throwing our items in the truck. She also specifically told them to put blankets around our brand new washer and dryer set as well as our new furniture. She explained that these guys were really rude and gave her an attitude because she questioned them about the price and for them charging to box the beds up, which Sebastian said we would not be charged for. The movers said you have to call Sebastian. She tried to call Sebastian but no one would answer any of their phones. The following Monday we kept trying to call for Sebastian, but once again no one was answering any of the phone numbers listed. Almost a week later a lady answers the phone and says she will leave a message for Sebastian to call back. We called a couple more times because he never returned our call. Three weeks later we are still tying to get in contact with him, but he would not respond and was basically hiding from us. Around that time 3 days before the beginning of our delivery timeframe, we get a call saying they are in the city we moved to ready to deliver. My wife explained to them that they were earlier than what the beginning of their delivery timeframe stated, but they kept insisting that she lets them deliver even though she was visiting my mother an hour away. She told them no after they gave her a hard time, and told them that they will deliver during the timeframe that they gave us. Now this is where the Nightmare continues....my wife woke up and talked to me on the day they were going to deliver and said I have a feeling today is going to be a bad day....BOY was she right.
They demanded the money right away without letting her at least look at our stuff, so after about 20 minutes of going back and forth my wife gave in, and gave them the remaining amount with a cashiers check. The mover that was in charge would not except it, and said they only except cash, which inconvenienced my wife, because she had to go back to the bank and get cash out. As the movers began bringing our items out, my wife notices boxes that don't even belong to us, and finds out that they belong to someone else, that they mixed with our items. They continue to bring out our once mint condition new furniture and she notices rips and tears in the top parts. They bring out the dryer and it looks like FREDDY KRUGER was scratching the top of it, and the top part was bent up. By this time my wife was very hysterical. I tried my hardest to calm her down but I couldn't because we worked hard for our stuff, and paid a lot to have it shipped and our stuff was thrown around and mishandled.
IF ANY ONE TRIES A REBUTTAL TRUST ME WE HAVE PICTURES AND WE ARE TAKING FURTHER ACTION! As they continue my wife see more and more items damaged including our kitchen table, so we decide to call the moving company. This time a woman answers the phone, and immediately we ask to talk to the manager or supervisor. Without even pausing the woman says he is not in. My wife insisted she put someone in charge on and about 5 minutes later the manager gets on (FUNNY HOW HE WASN'T THERE, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN HE WAS)
His name was Roy, but i'm sure they probably make these names up. We explained what was going on and all he could say was there was nothing he can do and he was sorry. That was when I asked about claims, with their insurance company and then he told me how to get a hold of them, but had no clue what the process was or how they work. By this time it was pretty late over here in Iraq so I go to sleep, about a couple hours later I get another call from my wife, this time she is extremely pissed! She tells me that they lost the end support to our daughters bed, and a couple of boxes including our vacuum cleaner. Our daughter doesnt have just some cheap bed, she has a very nice queen size bed, and they lost the end piece that basically makes the bed worthless if you dont have it. Hoe they lost this we have no clue. The drivers explained that they dont work for the company they just pick the trailers up from their warehouse and deliver, and told us that we should take pictures and keep calling to look for our "lost items." So now our daughter has a bed in the middles of her room that she can not sleep on because it is missing a very huge piece that supports the end of the bed. This was just a couple days ago, so hopefully they will find our remaining items, but I highly doubt it! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE STEER AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, THEY NEED TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS, THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CON HONEST PEOPLE THE WAY THEY ARE! THESE ARE SOME VERY UNPROFESSIONAL CRIMINALS, NOT MOVERS!
