Gillman Honda They lied to me about what happens when the financing is declined and I was forced to sign another contract. Houston, Texas |

My boss needed to buy a car and asked me to co-sign. We went to the dealership and signed a contract. The next day they called us and say that the financing fell though. We returned to the dealership to return the car. They said that we could not return the car and that we had to sign another contract making me primary instead of the co-signer. My boss and I did not want to sign a new contract with their changes. I asked what would happen if we left the keys and left. They said that if we left the car, that they were going to tow the car and we would be responsible for all the charges until we picked up the car. In addition to forcing us to sign a contract, they forced me to provide a bill with her residence with my name. I told them that I did not pay bills at her residence. At that point, the salesman took us aside and advised us that they do not do check with the utility companies and to just send them something to put all this behind us (when I emailed my "fake" bill, the salesman called me to compliment me on how well it looked). Our of pressure and deceitfully "knowing" that we had no other choice, we signed a new contract and they put me as primary and my boss as the cosigner. The paperwork was given to my boss and she drove off with the car. All this happened this June. Since then my boss has disappeared with the car and she is not taking calls from me or from Honda. I know her teenager is driving the car and she had texed me saying that she was not making any payments. I called Honda and gave them an update and asked them to reposes the car. I am afraid I am going to end up paying for the entire car. I have no rights to the car, I cannot report it stolen, I cannot sell it, I cannot do anything but pay for it for the next 5 years. I do not even know where the car is. I had an interested buyer but I could not locate the car. Honda is still not reposesing the car and they have sent me a bill for $1,300+ for a contract that I was forced to sign. What can I do? |
