gamemine.com Charged me 50.00 for games not yet mailed same day i cancelled. Pompano Beach, , Florida |
17th of Dec, 2010 by User165948 |
I signed up for this company and then saw they had no games at all available and cancelled. they charged me 150.00 on my card over night the week before christmas. then they said they had mailed the games i checked off....which is not true according to the girl i talked to when i called back. so the first guy lied. There was a HUGE amount of complaints posted about them online...never shipping out games and charging people for them. I reported them to the Better business people and to the fraud alert people. do not use this company. they lie and steal. They ripped me off so badly i had to cancel my credit card and file a fraud report. they are nothing but scam artists adn the good reviews....those people work there.

did the same to me! I joined Game Mine's rent service for video games on March 31st. They sent the first game and over a week later, I never received the game. After waiting several days, I cancelled my account. The service was not what I expected. Now they have charged my credit card without asking 50 dollars for a game that they never even sent to me. The merchant told me it is up to me to file a claim at the post office to find it? Why when he mailed it? It is his responsibility. This company is ripping me off. |

Dear Former GameMine Member (s),
We would like to offer clarification to you and others that will see this review.
First with out having a proper first name or identification indicator we must try and explain to the best of our abilities with the information provided on this feedback. With that being said, we must point out a key part of your argument is you have spoken to a CSR representative which you explain as being a "girl" Unfortunately, this cannot be a factual statement as during that time and consequently still to this day do not have any female CSR representatives.
Also, we would like to also point out another flaw in this review that in order to have $150.00 worth of authorizations on an account, the consumer would have to rent three games out at a time. While this was December we had discontinued our three games out at a time plan at the end of October 2010.
However, we must explain to you and all those reading this review is that when renting games from us, and ultimately any rental service, that we are sending out generally our only assets. While we do sincerely wish there was an alternate way to deter theft of our company assets, but this is currently the most viable option. This is also a standard for the rental services industry. However, since these are only authorizations and not charges they are refunded immediately upon arrival at a distribution center, or when they are scanned by the USPS in transit to our distribution centers. Also, we would like to point out that even if the game was not returned we do give any consumer up to 30 days to return any rented merchandise for an immediate refund.
If there are any further questions please do not hesitate to ask, our CSR's are available between 11am-5pm EST Monday-Saturday at 561-450-5123.
Best,
-Brent at GameMine
P.S. To the follow up comment. We have explained this to this particular customer what the procedure for this situation was and we have resolved all complaints and issues. Furthermore clarification was provided to this customer that the claim was intended for our CSR staff not for the USPS. |

From a sales persons view point BrentGamemine you really just dropped the ball. NEVER, EVER, insult the customer like you just did. I will never support your business and I suggest to anyone who may stumble across this when comparing Gamemine to Gamefly like I have done, don't go with their services. These are the type of people you will have to deal with.
I have read so many horror stories and reviews on Gamemine its just ridiculous. Like in a few cases the company charging credit cards because they feel like the person scratched an already scratched game. Or when they loose the game they say its your job to deal with the post office and figure it out yourself. Even though its them who shipped and until delivery it is their product. I have used Gamefly and this has NEVER happened to me. They are actually not too bad. I tried them out once, dropped the service after a few months and then tried blockbusters monthly service because I can then go in the store and get the games. But gamefly had a better selection and were reasonable on the delivery times, especially if your post office scans them. Plus their "Keep-It" price is reasonable pricing when compared to the local gamespot. Just with them you can try it before buying it.
Anyways back to my main point. DONT TRUST GAMEMINE. It doesn't take a rocket scientist (which, funny thing, I am one) to know that their customer support is horrible. Not even accredited by the Better Business Bureau . |

Wow.. A rocket scientist eh? Should you be working with rockets instead of playing video games? Because I'd imagine that would be a rather time consuming job... I call BS on you Mr. Rocket Scientist.
I've tried Gamefly for a couple months and they were AWFUL. I live three hours away from their Pittsburgh distribution center and it somehow took them eight days for turn-a-round. Whereas Gamefly, whose nearest shipping center is in New Jersey is twice as far away but somehow twice as quick. I've read a LOT of bashing on Gamemine, but for the 4-months worth of service that has been provided to me, I can honestly say that I have NO complaints at all. GM has been a great service provider and I have had absolutely no troubles with them at all, and I would recommend them to anyone. Not to mention that their 'Buy' prices are very reasonable compared to other places such as GameLie and Gamestop.
And by the way, I saw no 'insults' from BrentGamemine either. He was simply stating the facts for what they were and simply disproving a possible false statement to keep the integrity of the company intact. I think you're just just so full of yourself that you can't see Gamemine for being the great service it is. |
