| On Wednesday April 17th 2013, I answered an ad that was placed in the Record Journal. The ad that was posted said grand openings All departments hiring in southington and office in Meriden. The ad said that there was full company training and that there was a full time and part time work available. The positions that were offered were. Positions offered were Customer service, Sales service, Packing, General labor, and Entry level work. I called the number that was posted and spoke with Rob Boil who asked me to come in 4 p.m. that same day to be interviewed. I showed up on time and properly dressed. I completed an application and proceeded to be interviewed. During the interview I was given the choice to choose what position I wanted. I was also given the choice of whether I wanted to work full time or part time. It was agreed that I would be a customer service representative, and that I would be answering phones and taking appointments. I was told that it was a full time position because I asked for full time, and that my pay would be $500 a week. The interview went well and I was very excited because I have been searching long and hard for a stable job. I was told later on that day that I had the job.. I will ask to start Friday April 19 2013. I was eager to get started. During the first day oreantation, a Kirby vacuum cleaner was thrown in my face. This made me very uncomfortable, because I didn't ask to be a salesman. Mr Boil once again explained what my position would be. That I would be answering phones and taking appointments.The next day I was in orientation learning how to use the Kirby! This was alarming, because now I felt like I was being forced into sales! I explained to Rob Boil and his colleague Albert, that I did not want to do sales, and that I wished to do the job I was hired to do. Albert told me to just try it for the weekend and th. at Tuesday everything will be straightened out. Rob agreed... but then I was told that I would be making less money then sales. I was shocked because that's not what I was told when I was hired. I was told as a customer service representative that I would be paid 500 a week! I ended up having to take the Kirby home . No one that I knew you wanted anything to do with Kirby. There was a lot of negative feed back. and no I meant no! Monday morning I report it to work at 9 a.m. I spoke to Albert and explained my frustration. He told me to return my Kirby to the office and to take a breather for the rest of the day. He told me that he would give my application to the female who ran the customer service department... I was shocked. I'm thinking why would he have to give her my application and I'm already hired for customer service. He told me he was phone me at 3 p.m. that same day. 3 p.m. tame no call... 3:30 came... no call. Nope all the rest of that evening. I called at 7 a.m. the next day. I needed to know if it was okay to come to work. No answer and no return call. I called the whole day and didn't hear anything from anyone! I was very upset! I could have just showed up but I didn't want to drive all the way to southington to have Albert send me home once again. I couldn't understand it. I finally reached rob the next day who seemed to have known a little something about what happened by his tone. he told me to keep trying Albert and that Albert is the one that I should be asking. So I tried Albert again.. left a message.. and no return to call. I am pissed off because I was hired to do a job and what's pressure to do another job. I was sent home and there was no further notice about the job that I was hired to do. I am a single parent to children who I have to feed, a roof over my head that I have to pay for, a car that I have to maintain, and bills that need to be paid! They have put me in a terrible situation financially!! These people are liars and cheating crooks! They ruined my life! This company needs to be exposed!!! |
