I had the misfortune of working with Rachael Butts last year. I was fairly new to the internet and didn’t know what to look for or ask for and I didn’t really shop around – just did a Google search and her name popped up. Looking back I realize that her designs are all very basic using the same templates over and over with no customization. She was friendly, but awkward on the phone – I think she said “Um” 50 times in our initial phone conversation and I lost count after that. Despite all the red flags, I paid her a $1000 deposit. She burned through the deposit in a week and I had nothing to show for it. Once I did start to see results, I was very disappointed. The overall design was very basic and poorly organized – not at all professional. There were several links that were broken and there was a whole page of content missing. I had trouble getting her to return my calls and when she did it was all excuses about how she didn’t know how to fix the issues.

At this point I started looking into Rachael’s background a little. Turns out she is only 28 years old, she has only been designing Web sites for 2 years, and she had no degree in computer programming/engineering – just some general ed at a community college! She charges $100 per hour and farms out the work to people she finds on Craigslist for $20 per hour. No wonder she couldn’t build a decent site or fix any problems! What a SCAM!!! Here daddy seems to have set her up with good Google rankings so she has a steady stream of suckers to fleece. I found a very competent designer with a great protfolia at half the cost of Rachael Butts and he was able to fix all her mistakes. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Stay far away from Rachael Butts!!!
