freelancer.com Get a freelancer, GAF Breach of freelancer agreement, refusing to allow freelancers to withdraw money until after Christmas Internet |
7th of Dec, 2011 by User801846 |
Acccording to the agreement between freelancer.com and it's clients, funds are available to withdraw twice weekly. On December 8th 2011, however, freelancer.com placed a hold on freelancer withdraws, stating that there is a hold due to the Christmas season. We will not be given access to our payments until after December 29 to 30th. First of this is a breach of contract between this site and the freelancers who use it. A company that does not abide by one agreement will not by any means abide by any agreements, bringing me to my deeper concern- that this site has no intentions of releasing funds at all. My issue is not just that freelancer.com ruined Christmas for many people. It is also that they did so without any notice to anyone. There has also been no explaination for the unannounced changed in funds release dates. Finally, there was obviously NO thought or concern for the people who use this site, when they took this action. I am outraged that the CEO of this company has been given awards for INTEGRITY of all things. I am also outraged that this site has received the webby awards as well as other well-known accolades. It takes no integrity whatsoever to treat your own clients like they are nobodies. I believe that there is power in numbers, however, and I am not the type of person to just sit idly by and be ripped off. For the past month or more, I have gotten up early in the morning, worked on my projects, went to work full time at the school where I am employed, then returned home and worked on freelancer projects again until I could barely could keep my eyes open. Why? So that my family would have a Christmas, which you carelessly and needlessly stole from us. I will not forget that, and I will make sure that as many people as will listen to me, will know that you are not a man of integrity and that freelancer.com is not a place that deserves any accolades, awards or patronage. |

This is very unfortunate to hear! Guess that's what happens when large companies get so big they start losing sight of their customers. How did Freelancer answer any of those complaints?
This is probably one of the many reasons why I use smaller companies, BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. So many things can go wrong when freelancing. I've used HiretheWorld (http://www.hiretheworld.com) before. They're smaller, but that means they're more focused on their customers. Easier to get jobs too. Smaller is sometimes better. |

Hi all
I am am one of the victim of Freelancer.com. First time user from UK i wish i could find this blog before paying money to them.
I did deposit 480 USD (They charged me 492 USD) to my account.
I was trying to create milestones for project,
4 pieces of 120 USD
I did not realised that it is on GBP then i did cancel it. All money came back to my GBP account. I converted them to my USD account.
When i deposited i had
£ 5 and $ 480 in my account.
When i converted i see that i have
$441.52 and £5.00 i have so i lost 38.48 USD in seconds???
USD and GBP exchange rates doesnt change like that in a second? I know the market. I know that guys would like to get profit but that is cheating. There is no that much high profit in Money Exchange Market? And it is impossible.
Then i emailed them and Costumer Service was terrible. They just said they can not fix it and to give my money back they offered more than 2 weeks???
This is scam. I cannot accept it. They can not charge users that much exchange rate this is insane. This is a big scam.
I don't know what to do to be honest. I claimed to get it back on Paypal but it is going to take ages. And they will keep my money god knows for how long.
And also after Paypal Case they suspended my account with no warning or no reason.
Shame to do business like that.
Thanks for listening :( |

Chris, the Freelancer.com ususally do not respond when you prove them that they lie and cheat. I am sorry to say it, but during about 3 years the quality of their services and support gone down the sever... Avoid Freelancer.com - they are to scam, not to help you. |

Everywhere I go that talks about Freelancer.com, it is claimed that the issues have never been raised with Freelancer.com before, but yet I see the same issues time and time and time again.
Freelancer.com regularly hold customers illegally to terms that do not exist and faqs which is illegal.
Here is my story: http://5uperman.com/bitch-moan/freelancer-com-are-nothing-less-than-scammers/
I never asked for anything from freelancer.com except answers to my questions, but they promptly pushed $100 into my account! Nice thanks. But what about all the issues I was told had not been reported before which it would seem have indeed been reported countless times on countless websites before I reported the issues. |

Chrisrwaters, I once had an issue with their website (hiretheworld) and it tooks them days to answer, as a result, I missed the project I was working on – not to mention my wasted work. Also, more important, They don't pay on time, nor did they reply to my complain regarding their payment delay. That website has very few projects and I don't think anybody takes care of it. I think they have it run on automatic. |
