To anyone out there that wants to send there child or yourself to school I would not recommend Florida Technical College. They are just in it for the money! I attended this school and had a wonderful experience and then sent my daughter there what a nightmare that was. She started with the business management course, She went right into the access software program without intro to computer but this is not the worst part the "professor"( nothing more that a business owner and minister Karen Sims). Could not even teach the class because she did not know the material so they had another teacher come in half way through class because the students were so confused. Just a bit of information FTC is a national accredited school not a regional make sure you do your homework on the difference before you spend your hard earned money. What I don't understand why they would hire a teacher that does not know the material then have to pay another teacher to come in so the other teacher (Karen Sims) sits back in class an observe while she ate and text on her phone and when the lights were turned out for power point lecture she would start to fall asleep. " Really" On two separate occasions my daughter went to the Dean of FTC school and the problem was swept under the rug and nothing was done. Know if your a parent and you sign the financial agreement and your young adult was having this kind of problem at school you wouldn't want to know what is going on that you would not call to fine out what is going on. I have called several times left messages to the Dean of FTC Burnidet Cippriani-Major and the Director of FTC Gab Garcetts no one has called me back and so I have not told them that my daughter and her friend that were taking the same course that they would not be coming back there and why. Also because I trusted the admissions recruiter Elvin Gomez who told me if we had any problems to come and see him, so I did and the Dean of FTC shut him done and he won't even return my call. Also and added piece that my daughter only has her certificate of completion from high school so Elvin told us about Keystone National High School, come to fine out that it is a national accredited school and that is not worth the paper that it's written on because a regional accredited school does not accept it so i spent 350.00 for nothing. And so I have a very disappointed daughter because she wants to go to school and can't until she gets her H.S, diploma. Not to mention this is the worst customer service and college experience for one young adult can take. So my question to the President of FTC Dave Ruggieri why do you allow these practices happen at your school? I just need to say a few more things at the begging they say the FTC stands for a Family That Cares how untrue with the experience we have had and many more like us. And when I graduated my diploma was given to me in a file folder that you can buy at Office Depot how cheesy is that when you spend all that money to get you hard earned diploma or degree in a file folder. Also not to mention that the school promotes that they will help you fine a job but of course it not guaranteed you will get one which I understand that , but the problem is is that they don't even call you to help send out your resume unless you call and pest them. And I still have not found a job on my own or through FTC in the field that I studied Medical Billing and Coding what is not mentioned is that you have to have 3 to 5 years experience or luck is really on your side, with the new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that most of the coding is done through that because of the software for EMR does this for the doctors offices. I will never recommend this school to anyone that I know. You have serious problems at this school that needs to be addressed with your home office in Porto Rico. x-alumni of FTC |
