Flemings Ultimate Garage
Flemings Ultimate Garage Inaccurate Ad Description Rockville, Maryland
21st of Dec, 2010 by User848356
I purchased a 1969 Camaro SS/RS from Flemings for 49.9. The car was advertised as "original" with 12 bolt posi. After numerous delays, I finally received the car and discovered that it was NOT original. The intake manifold was from a late-model 80's Chevrolet and was aluminum and simply painted orange. Likewise, the Rochester carb was from a late model and simply painted gold. Both front springs were broken in several places. Since owning this car, I have put another 5K into making necessary repairs to make it safe and drivable. I take FULL responsibility for my decision to purchase the car. What I do NOT take responsibility for is the INACCURATE advertisement of this as being an "original" car. Likewise, the fact Flemings advertised it as a 12 bolt posi rear end and discovering it was NOT posi, is just wrong. I paid a local shop $1500 for an Eaton posi/install and am happy with the car. I sent Matt an e-mail detailing the advertisement discrepency (with photos of their ad stating it was a posi rear) requesting $1500 to offset my cost for the rear end. So far, I have not received a reply.

It bears mentioning that many of us who collect and purchase classic cars are a close community. scam one, then you rip us all off. I am not holding my breath that Flemings will make this right, but I want to WARN anyone considering purchasing a high-end classic car to look elsewhere-- They are long on promises and SHORT on delivery! Please feel free to contact me if anyone would like to hear more (...and there is more).

I also was scammed by the crew at Flemings. I purchased a car for a lot of money that was supposed to be a pro touring restomod. It is neither. The engine wont even stay running. It dies every time. A couple times while I was in traffic which was very dangerous. The mirroe finish paint is a joke just covering up the rust. The Z rated tires are some cheap Japenese brand and totally bald. The ac dosent work. The rear dosent have the posi it was said to have. I can really go on and on. This was advertised as turn key and restored and it is neither. Now I have to put money into what Felmings told me was a great ready to drive car. They lie in their ads and now when I see a video from them I don't believe a thing they say and neither should anyone else. Beware if you think about buying from Flemings Ultimate Garage. Don't be fooled. I know exactly how you guys feel that got taken and scammed by Flemings.

from Fleming’s Ultimate Garage. I am writing

this in homes that Mr. Fleming will right his companies’ wrongs and bring a

good name back to his business.

I can’t believe these people. They claim they are enthusiasts,

and that they sell a quality product. I bought a 1972 Chevelle “SS” pro touring in

March, and could not more disappointed with

this purchase. I have had nothing but

problems since they day I walked into the dealership.

Let’s start from the beginning. I drove to hours to look at this Chevelle,

and I stood around for 45 minutes without any help until I lifted the hood on

the car. That’s when Rich (the salesman)

came out to tell me not to touch the cars.

I explained to him that I was interested in this car, and asked him

about any mechanical issues, leaks, or other problems. He laughed at me and told me all cars have

leaks (I wasn’t born yesterday) and he told me this car was just fully

restored. This salesman was very rude

during this process. I asked about the

damp carpet and he said it was just some condensation. I took the car for a test drive, and told him

I would be back the next day.

The next day I found out it was not in fact a real SS as advertised. But they were very convincing in the fact

that it was still worth over 30000 dollars.

I also found out that it did not have the 500 hp as advertised. Despite these discrepancies, I decided to buy

the car. I even purchased it from Rich,

who told me in front of my girl friend that she and I would not last long. (What kind of salesman says that?!)

Here is where the real problems start. The next week, I drove over two hours to pick up the car, and

when I got there, Rich told me it needed to be aligned, it needed interior

pieces put in it, and a new fan module put in it, and they would not have it

ready until the next day. I was a bit

annoyed until I talked to the owner. He

told me Rich misinformed me and the car would not be ready for a week! I was very upset! This was the third time I had driven down

there, and I was not going to do it again.

I went home and emailed Mr. Fleming himself. He agreed to have the car delivered, and

throw in a new air cleaner for my troubles.

He also agreed to get the advertised heater installed.

It has been three months since the car was delivered and

I’ve put only 500 miles on it. After detailing

the car, I have noticed that it is mostly bondo under the paint. The paint itself looks like it was done by a

12 year old and there is already rust showing at the bottom of the driver side

door! The car ran out of gas once

despite the gauge showing ¼ of a tank.

I went to get a car wash and almost drowned! The window seals are all junk! My carpet seems to always be soaked. I might as well have the windows down. Speaking of windows, the window cranks fell

off and are junk. The back dash has

warped. On inspection, I found that it

was made of cheap cardboard. The fabric

on the sail panels near the back windows came apart and I had to repair those

along with many other interior pieces. The

rear ashtrays were not even secured into the arm rests. The passenger seat does not slide back and

forth. The center console is broken. This car needs to go back to the shop so the

interior can be re-restored the right way!

The exhaust leaks horribly (at least that’s what I hope that ticking

noise is), and it still leaks oil! It is

consistently running hot and the transmission slips going into third gear. The gas cap was defective and was spilling

gas every time I accelerated.

Dangerous!! They still have not

called me to get the heater installed.

There’s no way I can show this car in the condition it’s in, and I’m

afraid to drive it because I fear it will either overheat or the transmission

will go out. I’ve been tempted to drive

it back to Fleming’s Ultimate Garage, but I’m pretty sure it will leave me

stranded on the free way.

Overall, I am very unsatisfied with this purchase. I paid over 27000 dollars for this car, and

it’s junk. I’ll be surprised if it’s

still in one piece by the end of the summer. I can’t believe I was ripped off this

bad. This is no way to run a business and

by the looks of it, these people are doing this all the time. I’m so disappointed. I hope no more people get treated like I did

The dude on the video is just a good talker...that's all he knows...I've had friends deal with this dealership for years...they just laugh now...they will say anything to make a sale...your a fool if they talk you into the advertised price for free shipping...its a joke...bring a professional with you to look car over...anyone can hold a plastic sheet and read writing off paint...that's easy...even over rust and bonding...buyer beware...buy from private owner with all docs.

We were just taken by them on a 1971 corvette. They advertised rare factory air which works and now claim a wire must have come loose during transport. It was not restored as they advertised. After several trips it is sitting in the garage and won't even start. It was only $30, 000 so they will say it would be twice that to be AS THEY ADVERTISED. Their ad said it was restored in its original 905 Nevada Silver but the stamp in the door says the original is 987 Ontario Orange. The color would be a minute problem had there not been so many other lies thrown in with it. The 12 month Genuine Warranty that was sent with the package of papers for our signature has never been activated yet. They told us it will start as soon as we receive our card and it has been 3 weeks now. I guess it doesn't matter though because they are rated the same on the BBB and probably work together with these car enthusiasts (such a joke).

I sent them a package to back up our complaints and gave them 10 days to buy the car back. Oh I forgot Tony did offer to trade it for another one there. Now I just seem to have a problem with that. If they don't buy the car back we have everything ready to go to the lawyer and to file with the Ohio and Maryland Attorney General offices.

I hope this help others to not even look at their website.

You can contact me at [email protected] if you want to see the original ad and the photos to prove it is wrong before buying from them.

Thanks
